The S15 style 2871's compressor inlet flange isn't clocked the same as on a T-25. If you band-saw your inlet pipe off at the flange, you can mark up where it will fit and have a shop tig it back together. GReddy sells an intake kit specifically for this turbo but it's $300+ and also includes a new cast outlet pipe which would be used instead of the APRacing flange adapter. I personally made my own custom intake setup with a 3" universal adapter from ATP and a couple old donor intake pipes and a couple new couplers. this also gave me the opportunity to recirculate my BOV, which you should do if you are running pull-through MAF. for the hot side, i used the original outlet, cut the last 90° bend out of my hotpipe, and ordered a 45° coupler with the appropriate in/out diameters to join them.
Get new nissan exhaust manifold, T2 flange, and T28 turbine exhaust flange gaskets. Get the S15 oil drain tube.
It's much easier to remove and reinstall the manifold/turbo as an assembly, rather than trying to swap the turbo in the engine bay. Also the exhaust flange is slightly different than the T25, so a stock iron T25 dump pipe won't bolt up without enlarging one of the holes. Also, you'll need the S15 oil drain tube because the t25 one doesn't point towards the block. you can bend the piss out it but you will probably will warp the flange and leak oil.
Before my injectors and e-manage, I was running the stock ECU and 2871 with no boost controller (10psi) and the car made 250hp to the wheels. Reinstalling my electronic boost controller has helped spool up and makes the car feel a lot less sluggish well before 10psi. and turned up to 14psi, well.. it hauls.
but since nobody wants to tune my e-manage, I'm considering putting back in my 370's and stock MAF because it was quick enough and my current tune makes the car run like crap.
..edit I went to enjukuracing and saw the fitting/flange kit.. if you get the cheaper S15 oil drain tube, you won't need anything in that kit except for maybe a new gasket which you can easily make on your own. The S15 style 2871 already has a restrictor incorporated into the CHRA housing, so that fitting is redundant. My turbo came with adjustable wastegate actuator linkage, too.
