Upgrading to 18's from 17's - any possible issues?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I got a really good deal on silver AWD Journey with the Premium package (around $10K off MSRP). Problem is, I like the 18" wheels (not on the vehicle I'm getting a good deal on)

So my plan is to get this one, and then buy some OEM 18's either here or on Ebay, and sell my own. How does that sound? Will there be any issues like with the TPMS? Are the bolt patterns the same? Are the suspension settings between the Luxe and non-Luxe vehicles the same?

How much are OEM 18's and 17's on the 2nd hand market anyway?

Coming from 17" rims to 18" means you have to buy a new tires with lower profile than the stock 225/60-17 .

With 18" rims you need this size:

18" rims with tire size of 225/55/18Bolt pattern : 5-114Offset: +40mmlugnut size : 12x1.25mmAlso don`t forget that aftermarket rims uses a centering ring specific to the car. This normally comes with the rims when you buy the rims.

Make sure your stock TPMS will fit into the aftermarket rims.

With OEM 18" everything is the same except tires.

there is no problems with OEM 18" same lug nuts same bolt pattern and no problem with suspension. you will have to re program the TPMS but thats for if u change to another set of sensors. but thats easy.

OEM 18" rims are rare well it was the last time i tried to look for them not sure how much the go for now. but i think you should get custom rims or some better looking rims then the OEM ones unless you want a stock look.

Too bad you don't live closer to WI, I am planning to buy one with Luxe Elite package, and I'd prefer the 17's.

`Nice to know a fellow Cheese head in the forum.

I bet, you are the only one driving an EX35 in your town.

In a span of 9 months, I only saw 3 EX35 here in Milwaukee area.

Go GREEN BAY PACKERS. My wife and I know Brett Farve. He is a very nice man. We go to all his NFL signings, when he was playing for the packers. I called him up the day I heard the news about him leaving the team, boy was I upset. He is still a cool rich quarter back so I am not mad at him.

So far the only other EX I have seen was the day I was in Milwaukee to test drive it. Saw one other that day. I do like the idea of having a unique car.
