upgrading the stock KA24E

I got new KA24E engine put in my car (well rebuilt) due to the last one going out on me, I'm kinda kicking myself in the butt that I did'nt get the sr20det, but ya know, I was pressed for time. I wanna know what mods can you do to the KA24E engine, besides just putting an intake and exhaust? What can you do to make it a little beefier? Let me know. Thanks

Well besided the bolt-on (I,H,E) then you have cam, pulley, fly whelle, ECU retune, electrice fan, removal of the secondary butterfly. then the big ones (more expensive); Turbo, ported head, and High CR.

Intake($200)/Header($350)/Exhaust($500)/Cams($500)/Clutch($300) should get you to hit a 15 flat, depending on your driving skill and the motor (KAs differ greatly). Those together will be over $2,000 with labor, and just under if you do the labor yourself.

yeah turbo is a good idea but then you got to upgrade all the internals so you can have a high psi.

How many ponies are we talking when say you get the exhaust, intake, headers, probley the camshaft, how much horsepower are we talking from stock HP?

the h/e combo alone should grab about 10hp (4-5whp). adding the intake and you might get another couple of hp. the cam's can get about 20 hp (8-10whp). hope this helps. nick

WELL WHAT R U TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH? A LIGHT TO LIGHT RACER, QUARTER MILE RACER, AUTOCROSS.. I WOULD GET THE REGULAR BOLT ONS I/H/E AND INVEST IN SOME DAMN GOOD TIRES.. IT MADE A BIG DIFFERENCE WHEN INSTEAD OF BURNING OUT AT THE TAKE OFF IT JUST JUMPS OFF THE LINE...(RACED A HONDUH ACCORD EX -GTR?!?!? LAST SATURDAY.. WITH MY CUZINZ NITTO EXTREMES IT CAUGHT ON VERY WELL AND JUMPED HIM HALF A CAR AT THE START.. AND CAUGHT VERY WELL THROUGHOUT.. NEEDLESS TO SAY I RAPED ANOTHER HONDUH IN CORPUS..) WTF A GTR HONDUH ACCORD?LOL
