Upgrading the stock KA24E?

I got an engine replacement a couple months ago and had to do something quick about it. So I got it rebuilt, new, pistons new rods, new rings, etc. I kinda kicking myself in the butt wondering why I did'nt just get the sr20det, but ya know. So my question.... What can you do the stock KA24E engine, besides just the norm mods of air intake and exhaust? What can you do to beef it up somewhat without burning a hole in your wallet?

you can bondo over the valve cover to get rid of all the lines and make it smooth, paint it red, and use a stencil to write "ferrari" in white letters
