Ok so I've finally came to the idea to start upgrading my suspension. I just purchased some lowering springs on ebay for $50 1.80" drop and a front strut bar.

Am I doomed with these? http://www.ebay.com/itm/310496830456?ss ... 1497.l2649

I've heard ebay strut bars are fine, which to me sounds logical considering it's just a metal bar tied to your struts. What would be the next ideal part to upgrade? I was looking at rear strut bars and sway bars but don't know if all that will make a huge different for a DD. I do like occassionally sprinting my car on the highway and making some corners on the streets. As far as the lowering springs go, how hard is the install and is 1.80" a decent drop? I'm sick of the 4x4 look. I'm not too experienced on suspension so excuse the noobish questions. I've searched but don't see much that entails to what I'm asking. I definitely am not buying coilovers so please don't say to purchase a set of those. Any feedback will be appreciated.

It's still gonna look 4x4, and only a handful of struts are good with a lowering spring. As for strut bars, yea you could cheap out, I like ultra racing myself..

I would consider putting those springs on a better damped strut than the factory ones. KYB is a good alternative as is Koni.

Go to a parts store that rents tools and rent a strut spring compressor to install the springs.

Next time, do some basic research before you impulse buy a part you're uncertain you can install yourself.

I don't mind paying a shop do to it, I know I am not able to install these myself..

Well my rims are 16"...so anything is better than stock height.

I bought some $50 ebay springs for my S13 back in high school, they lasted for a couple years. After that car had been parked for a while, I got back to working on it again and the right front spring had literally broken in two pieces. I DEFINITELY wouldn't install those springs on your car and I DEFINITELY wouldn't cheap out on load bearing suspension components.
