Well, I think its time for some more power and move on to bigger better things.I on'y want to see about 400hp daily driven (and i mean it) and on race gas roughly 450-500hp. I'm probably going to go with the CTC SR20DET turbo kit that they offer and have the motor built by SGP Racing, in houston.

Question: how should i go about picking out my ECU for that kinda setup? What should I look for. I've heard that Jim Wolf offers a unit, or a reflashing.

450-500.... standalone. Thats my personal opinion. I would love to tell you about the Power FC and the FC Datalogic, but the car is being a mean *** beoch right now.

Well after discussing things with my tech guy at SGP. He was saying that since i don't plan on driving the car around and tracking it as most people do the Power FC might not be for me. He said it could be if I was looking to extract everything out of my car. We were talking about ordering a JWT ECU and tell them what injectors, turbo, MAF i'd be using. And go with a tuned ECU off of that.

JWT... Um no.

Great thing, if never plan on doing anything else to your car. But if you change injectors/cams/exhaust, then the tuning will not be ideal. Not only that, they will guesstimate what kind of tune you need, which is not an exact art....

With the Power FC... U HAVE THE POWER!!!!!! U can change the tuning yourself, easy to use, and super handy. Maybe if your ready we can get a deal bc I have to buy a new one also.......

I second the standalone option. I however recommend the AEM EMS...I just don't like the PowerFC for various reasons.

remember if you have a powerfc you have to know someone to tune it. someone locally just blew a cylinder in their 450-500whp 240sx because he had a power fc in it and tried tuning it themselves... at the track

That (knowing how to tune it, or knowing someone to tune it) applies with any standalone ECU.

That said, standalones are the best way to go, end of story. A DSM I just helped tune out in New York was running an HKS VPC (I was out there to help tune a haltech for it). By doing nothing but installing the standalone and tuning it, we picked up 54 horsepower AT THE WHEELS.

thats another thing, how do you feel about Haltech for the SR?I would have SGP make the settings and leave it alone after they've delt with it.
