Ok, so I've done my homework before posting. Here's the Q :

1. Do I have to flush before going from convential oil > Mobile 1 synthetic? I only ask b/c i heard from people that Mobile 1 isn't really a pure synthetic. That Mobile 1 is still a derivative of Dino oil. If that's the case, I see the waste in flushing. Especially since you always run the risk of breaking already well placed seals over time from your oil that are where they are suppose to be naturally. But if it's a good idea to flush before going from conventional > synthetic then just let me know.

2. Is it really worth going to full synthetic if all I am is a regular street driver who likes to open up on the highways? Or is that more for racers?I know that it is a 'must' to flush if I do decide to go all the way to pure synthetic (Royal Purple). My only question is if it's worth going thru all that expense (cost $$ of constant pure synthetic oil changes) if I'm not really gonna use it on the street or track.

Thanks for your posts everybody...a lot of usefull stuff

Synthetic is always going to be better then Conventional because it will stay the same viscosity between oil changes and not change its chemical composistion as much.

Synthetic is for anyone that wants their car to last as long as possible.

I've always changed vehicles over to Mobil 1 after the 1st 1000 miles. I've never flushed... most manufactures recommend changing the oil with the engine at operating temperature. If the oil is hot your going to get most of it out anyway.

Good luck!Jeff

They charge:

Mobile 1 full synthetic = $58

The Royal purple adds $3-$5 per quart, yes?
