Hi guys, I believe there's been a discussion about this and there's even pictures to illustrate the process. However, I can't seem to find the post anymore. Please help, if you can post the link to that post here that would be great. Or, If anyone can walk me through again how to do it that would be great too. I've no experience tinkering with a car so any help will be much apreciated.

I'm planning to buy the one being sold in ebay. Here's the link:

Anyone had experience/purchased with this item? Can you share your experience. Thanks.

wow, your mods look awesome especially the tail lights.

okay, I have a stupid question, the article mentioned a Versa SL without convenience package. Will there be a difference in the procedures if I have the Versa S with Power Package?

I'm sorry, I really am a newbie here. This is my first car and I just wanted to make sure about everything before proceeding. Thanks again.

i have a versa S you wont be doing exactly what he is doing, because he hard wired the HU(head unit) you will have to just match the colors up with the harness that ur buying off ebay and the HU harness then simply plug it into your versa. very simple.

Do you want to sell your old "stock" headunit? I am looking for one with an aux/ipod jack.

How did this go? I'm looking to do the same exact thing (S trim, same dash kit/harness/antenna adapter, no experience whatsoever) and am pretty nervous about it.

Also, my dash is one of those weird airbag-on-the-left, hazard-on-the-right guys. I imagine this doesn't create any additional issues but I wanted to check everyone's expertise first.

I have an S, no IPod jack on the aftermarket, or an IPod itself

Yes, the guide was made before the release of the wiring harness, I was feeling ambitious and impatient, so I did it the oldschool way with a voltmeter and toggled the dimming and headlight switches. The guide will help you out anyway, but you can follow the instructions supplied by the wiring harness for the wiring part. Wiring harnesses make it easy for anyone to change the headunit, but if you run into any problems there are plenty of people here who can help you, myself included, but I am often not here because of my busy work and school schedules.

Yes, although in your situation the two are reversed, there will be no problems. Just follow the instructions the same way being mindful that you should never unplug the airbag light.

So my headunit is set to arrive today. It's just the JVC KD-HDR1 but I got with it the iPod adapter.

Like I said earlier, this will be my first install. I've read through the tutorial and will have the pictures with me, just in case. But I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the iPod adapter. Where did you put it? I obviously thought of doing it in the glove box but there doesn't seem to be any easy entry into it.

Any tips? Here's the adapter (from what I understand, the cables are pretty long):

Anyone seen a kit for double din radios? I have mine in there kinda hokey right now, would love a real kit so it's even all around.

the kit you buy is for single and double, and IMO paying for the kit for a double din is not worth it, as all you use is this crappy little square filler piece.

So all the kits are the same? The only one I see is Scosche.

I didn't use a kit for my D-Din. The factory brackets position the radio perfectly, and the trim ring that came with the radio wouldn't fit because the fit was snug.

I have tried searching and have not come up with an answer for this question. Does anyone know if the Sirius Direct FM antenna will work with the S H/U?

Can some one post a link to remove the Head Unit?

I'm thinkin' probably not.

The antenna plug on the Versa won't fit into that Direct FM thing without using an adapter. And it doesn't look like the Direct FM can plug into the stock HU without a (reverse?) adapter.

The best and easiest solution (other than switching to XM which is way better ) is to ditch the stock HU. Your sat radio hookup will be a lot simpler, and it will probably sound better too.
