so I just bought myself a 92' 240sx, I want to do some upgrading to it, but I don't know what I should do first.

any ideas?? obviously I don't want to install a turbo if I don't have the money to put a new exhaust in as well. I just want to know what I should do first. performance wise that is....

thanks

Well you can always install an intake...

Post pics up...I want to see your ride...so I can see what needs to be done. Show engine pics too.

I think instead of performance parts you should check all the worn out stuff on the car which can really effect how the car will perform and drive...what are you looking to do on the car drift, dialy car etc... what engine are you putting in

What he means is to di a few personal inspections...visual...electronic...etc. The point is to get the car back in OEM shape or better for each component you replace. It's always a good start to do this...and it will help you get a better idea of WHAT you should upgrade at the moment...if you are having a hard time deciding. Let me give you an example:

1 Day 1 I bought my vert - I looked into getting my top replaced. The window was cracked and one of the top bars was bent. Just not cool. Second Mod: My brakes. I needed a rehaul (and honestly, I should have got this done first).

See what I mean? Do an inspection of your car....turn off the radio...drive it around for a day. Try to notice any rattles...or if the car pulls a certain way...etc. Check suspension....does it feel soft? etc....

^^^Agreed.

When I got my vert...I replaced the air, fuel, and oil filters. I replaced the transmission fluid and did an oil change. My right mirror fell off while I was on the highway so I replaced that also. I also checked my brakes and aligned my wheels. I put in freon in the AC as well. I also checked the battery to make sure it was still good. Be sure to check the engine bay for foreign object and debris...clean it with a hose. Check the underside for rust also or anything that looks fishy. Make sure all your tires have the right pressure as well.

You can check the car yourself or take it to the nissan dealer if you have the money and they can tell you everything which comes out quite better.. as for the intake http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem or you can get the cheap one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem in i have tried both and the AEM is better but you have the choice on what you want to do
