My wife and I bought a brand new 2007 Altima 2.5S back in '07 and we loved it so much that when it was time to get our second car we decided to get another Altima, a 2009 2.5SL. Now the first car is basically hers, since we were just dating when she decided to get a new car and I just recently, last saturday, bought my new 09 model. I have the SL package with the leather sits and all the fancy dancy stuff that came with the car but my wife is jealous and wants to get the same stuff that my car came with. Is it possible for us to just go back to the dealership and ask for the SL package for her car, without actually just buying another new car?

Sorry for such a long post. And thanks for anyone who can answer this for me.

Welcome to Nico first off.

As far as having the dealer install the SL features on her S i think the answer is yes and no. Certain features like the wheels, the leather shift knob, and the dimming mirror should be an easy switch.

The auto headlights, power/heated leather seats, and the home link would only work if there is the proper wiring for it already. But im not even sure about the auto headlights as that probably requires some extra programming that her S doesnt have.

The best way to find out is to ask the dealer. Hope this helps

you might as well just trade in the car and buy a new one with all the features you want, because its going to cost you a pretty penny to have the dealer upgrade all of that in your current car.

Agreed...each feature is going to cost the same as it would in the upgrade package, except for now you need to pay for labor. Lets say before the Leather Package was $4k, you don't get the bulk discount but can buy everything OEM. So it will be $4k plus another $2k-$3k and plus the 20 hours (or more) of labor at $150/hr...

So, what I would do is before you go try to cookie cut a car into something new...go see what they can do for a trade in value on another '09.

After you realize that is out of the question bite the bullet and just give your wife the '09 and take the '07 because you will never hear the end of it.

I think I'm gonna just get the moonroof option and buy my own set of rims and just keep her car and let her have mine. I don't really care about all the features. I'll go to the nissan dealer today and get a price quote on the moonroof. Thanks everybody for your help!

Just FYI...when we were looking at our Coupe we priced out getting the moonroof aftermarket...something to compare the quote to.

It was 600$ for the spoiler type (up and out of the car)

And 900$ for the moonroof (down and into the roof)

Those are Columbus, OH prices though (not LA/Chicago, but not po-dunk middle of nowhere)

$600 for an aftermarket moonroof put in ???

I was going to ask about this because I didn't really want to get the moonroof but now I have changed my mind but thought it would cost a ton more than this.

it was a real legit company too! I am know for going for cheap knockoffs:

They have one that is a two tear piece of glass, for a fish fin look...

That would just be AWESOME looking! But, they can't do that on a coupe...it is to large they said.
