Agreed...each feature is going to cost the same as it would in the upgrade package, except for now you need to pay for labor. Lets say before the Leather Package was $4k, you don't get the bulk discount but can buy everything OEM. So it will be $4k plus another $2k-$3k and plus the 20 hours (or more) of labor at $150/hr...
So, what I would do is before you go try to cookie cut a car into something new...go see what they can do for a trade in value on another '09.
After you realize that is out of the question bite the bullet and just give your wife the '09 and take the '07 because you will never hear the end of it.
