The set you refer to: uses high grade plastics and 14 g wire. Why? About 90-95 % of energy from a light bulb is heat. This adder removes the heat from OEM connector by adding another connector. This may or may not work, because an addition of connections, a series circuit that could be adding additional resistance.
Try taking your OEM base and clean it then put thermal conductive grease on the bulb base and connector. This will help dissipate heat.
Your OEM wires, bulbs, connectors are based on a given wattage, if you go higher than that rating there is more heat. Remember even the surround of the bulbs must be able to withstand the heat generated by the bulb.
Various makers of various types of headlight bulbs use more or less watts per light output, look for the most light at the colour you think is the best at the least wattage. Also the reflection, colour, display and aiming of the light can add or subtract from what you are trying to gain.
