u dont really have to upgrade anything on the car for the SR swap...if you want to run more than 10-12psi on the motor then ull wanna get a new fuel pump...but other than that u dont need to do ne thing

Exhaust manifold gasket, turbo to manifold gasket, downpipe, clutch, exhaust. If you are talking about upgrades to the car before you actually get your motorset then brakes and suspension.

Well, I'm starting my swap soon, so here's a list of parts that I've got (or ordered)

Nissan Front Main SealNissan Rear Main SealNissan Timing Chain Guides (considering changing)Main Belt (no a/c or p/s...maybe p/s later)Perma-cool 14" fanKoyo RadiatorNismo ThermostatGreddy Radiator CapHeavy Throttle conversion hosesHeavy Throttle Hot pipeGreddy Type-S BOVGreddy Airnix intakeGreddy RSPL FMICGreddy turbo outletGreddy DownpipeTest pipeRSR GTIII exhaustWalbro Fuel PumpNGK plugs (one step colder)Oil filter relocation kit (researching)ACT 6-puck clutchCusco Chromoly FlywheelSummit Battery relocation kit

I'm also installing gauges and boost controller. Once I get the swap done and the engine's been running good for a while, I'm going to upgrade the turbo, injectors, MAF, and get a ECU retune.

Would it be possible to fit an exhaust with 3" piping on a stock KA 240 in anticipation for the SR swap? I think thats what cys19 is asking?

Dude, I have no idea of what those are. Haha. Anyone know of a good website to search up these type of stuff?

normally i would respond with info and honest opinion, but there is so much crap you're asking, im gonna say it:

Use the search button. You are asking about pretty basic stuff, just reading will help you :)

If you need to know really basic stuff like how a motor works: http://www.howstuffworks.com

Exhaust will not fit. It will, but you'll have Naturally aspirated exhaust on a turboed car which over time will damage the turbo due to back presure. You can replace all those seals and gaskets if you want, but it's not required if you get a good engine. So basically the very minimum you need isEnginetransmissionI say fuel pump and fuel filterMASIgnitor chipRadiator electric fan (unless you get a clip or radiator shroud)IntercoolerAll the fluids Wiring redonea BOV is nice

It's not something you go half assed into, especially if your doing it to your daily driver. Like J-Spec said searchtryswap, parts list, sr20det stuff like that. Also check out http://www.heavythrottle.com and go to their FAQ's. Other than that, read others posts and try to familiarize yourself with the sr as much as possible. Especially if your going to do it yourself. I'm sure your anxious to do a engine swap, I know I was but going into something half assed is a time old assured way of ****ing up. Hope this helps

Yea, you need to do a whole lot of research. those are all common parts for a sr swap. I recommend you NOT get a swap yet. IMO sr swaps are for those who are mechanically inclined. I've been researching on sr's for about 1 year now. I just now got a 240 and plan on doing the swap soon. I've been working on my cars for 4 yrs now and I still consider myself a rookie. HAPPY LEARNING =):thinker

I researched a year ahead as well. Learn as much as you can. I knew more about the SR than I did about the KA by the time I got my swap done. It will save you at least a couple of headaches. One thing I didn't see people mention was new engine/transmission mounts. I went with Nismo. Definately worth the $200.

my swap went horrible at first, I used the little swap DVD you can get off ebay. It's a good "general guide" and I use general loosely. wither way, it did help. Make sure you have someone do your wiring. Lets just say I followed some of the digrams I got over the net. triple checked them had them exactly right...Long story short, it took some douche from balanced performance and $1000 to tell me my wiring was wrong and then did a half *** job fixing it and didn't even hook everything back up.

Do your research or you'll end up like me and many others..****ing big time broke.
