I'm probably not going to get wheels soon, and since i'll need wheels to do the 300zx 30mm brake conversion I'm gonna just upgrade the stock brakes. I have a 92 240sx LE, so I was thinking some Power Slot slotted rotors, braided brakelines, Hawk brake pads, and Motul brake fluid will do right nice. And since tires play a roll in braking i'm going with Dunlop SP Sport FM901 all around. I drive the car daily, race it every now and then so I think this kinda upgrade will do more than sufrice......think so?

Open to other suggestions.

^^ setup i got from SPL parts and installed on sunday. read my other thread for a good review. the only thing i didnt get was the speed bleeders. also, 1 bottle of the ATE brake fluid was more than enough for me.

I've driven both the Hawk HPS and Carbotech Bobcats(not on the same car though). I'd have to give the nod to the Bobcats for street driving, very quick response and nice dust/noise levels for a daily driver.

I use Carbotech Panther Plus and they're insane for a "streetable" pad, never fade on the track whatsoever. Brake torque is crazy all the time. They squeal when no pedal pressure is applied though, and dust like you would not believe. Comes with the territory though.

Im gonna have to try out those Bobcats. Thanks Def.

As for brake upgrades, you can also get q45 front brakes which wouldn't require you to change your wheels.

Yea, when I'm ready for the brake job I'm gonna upgrade. Now I have some 300zx Aluminum calipers.............should I keep them and just do that or go with the stock setup with good gear.....well if anyone wants 300zx calipers let me know, might work something out

so I'm about to order rotors for the stock setup. Would you suggest Brembo slotted or the Power Slot slotted rotors?

Are these the 26mm calipers?

If so, you *may* be able to get away with using your stock s13 alloys(if you have them) to clear the brakes...
