upgraded valve springs?

I took off my valve cover and i noticed on a couple of valves under the paint were green, any ideas? stock or not? im trying to figure out how to post pics to.

stock valve springs coil differently from the bottom to top. So they need to go in a certain orientation when they are installed.

The side with the green paint goes on the bottom.

Aftermarket springs (atleast most of them) have same coil pattern throughout the spring and the orientation does not matter. This is not the case for stock valve springs which is why they have that paint to indicate which side goes on the bottom.

Yup. All the stock valve springs ive seen come with green paint on the bottom.
