thats a good question...I'd really like to know myself.

Unfortunatly I don't think anyone here's tried using an SR dump pipe (turbo elbow), connected to an SR downpipe. It seems like it just might work! The problem with the SR downpipe flange is that the SR bolts are located at different places than the CA bolts...this makes the SR downpipe shoot out the passenger side of the car, rather than back to the rest of the exhaust!

As I'm sure you've heard, most people just use an SR pipe, cut and rewelded at the correct angle to bolt to the CA dump pipe...But try the SR turbo and elbow and downpipe. If my engine was in the car I'd do it...so if you don't want to try it, I'll let you know if it works in about 2 months;)

Yup, I wondered the same thing! In a few months ill have either a T28 turbo or a nice T3T4. But its leaning towards a T28 since it bolts on and I can finally get a 3" downpipe.

Ok... here is the deal on the o2 housings.....

I bought an SR one so I wouldn't have to cut and weld a downpipe to fit. But ran into a few problems.....

The obvious difference is the clocking of the collector. Its about 15 degrees different.

The CA o2 housing is about 1 inch SHORTER than the SR one.

The CA housing has one opening... that is for the o2 sensor. The SR one has 2 openings, which accounts for the extra length. It has the opening for the o2 sensor, which I think goes into the bottom bung, and the upper bung is for the AIV.

You could use the SR one, all you would have to do is take the bung out of the CA housing for the o2 sensor, put it into the SR housing and block off the AIV with that nifty AIV plug for a 300zx and it will bolt to the back of the CA T25 with no problems. BUT... it will now hang about an inch too low and will have alignment problems with the cat.

I discussed this with Jon once and he said that his T28 actually hangs lower than the T25, which is why his downpipe needs to be shortened.

If you ran a T28, with an SR o2 housing and a 3 inch unmodified SR downpipe on a lowered car.... SCRAPE city.

Best bet is to just modify an SR downpipe to fit the CA housing or just buy a CA downpipe from someplace in australia. Best price I found was a Kakimoto for 500 AUS to my door.... which works out to about 320 bucks minus import duties. I figured a 150 Heavy Throttle downpipe cut and welded by my buddy WAY outweighed a $400 downpipe with almost a month of delivery time.

yeah, my down pipe cat and back half of my exhaust hangs like around a inch or so from the ground i scrape it on every drive way , i also now have dents in the DP , not good!! we are goin to either make a new one or shorten this one. the other night we were out racing people and i had two passengers and myself, thats alot of weight! were were at an intersection where bigriggs often have to stop well the road had tire rutts leaving the middle higher then the tire ruts just sitting in this intersection i was scraping the ground.

Neither will.... the t28, sr housing, and sr downpipe will be about 2 inches below the cat, and a t25, sr housing, and sr downpipe will be about an inch below the cat.

Just use the CA housing and cut and weld an SR downpipe. Easiest way. Midas quoted me 20 bucks to weld the pipe for me.

HA! I had mine welded for 10.

Anyway, looks like it all comes down to the downpipe.

I guess im going to use the T28 with the stock O2 housing but with a modified downpipe.
