Last night I picked up an great deal on a 2015 Q70 3.7L AWD with only 9100 miles on it. My 2007 M35x was still running fine, but had over 160,000 miles and was starting to show it's age. It pretty much has everything I was looking for - Hemosa Blue, AWD, low miles. The only thing I didn't get that I wanted was a lighter color interior - this one is black. My wife and I drove it home last night from Portland, OR to our home in the Olympia, WA area. I love being able to switch from ECO to Standard to Sport and the power and sound of the car. It doesn't seem to be that much quieter than the M35x, but is much smoother and feels much more powerful. It took me only a couple of hours to get everything setup the way I like and to move my satellite radio subscription to the new car along with getting the garage door opener setup. I love the looks of the car and the exterior lighting is so much better with all of the LED lighting. I like that it has DRL and auto locks finally. The soft close trunk lid is fun and the mileage on the trip home was excellent - 26.1 MPG going 75 mph most of the way.

I've ordered all new filters and plan to change the oil once the new filter arrives. Anything else you would recommend with a low mileage car that I don't know the maintenance history of?

Congrats on the upgrade. That’s actually the color combo I wanted but I couldn’t find one with the deluxe touring package so I went with Black/Graphite. I prefer the darker interior because over time it will show less wear and dirt than the light interior.

Congrats on your new upgrade! Low mileage cars are nice, but they do have their downsides as well. In this case, it obviously means that it hadn't been driven very much...so it sat around a lot, maybe short trips, a lot of start and stopping type driving, not really driven on the highway very much. One downside with low mileage cars is that it can lead to premature catalytic converter failure. Short trips are hard on cats. They need sustained highway mileage as part of the driving regimen in order to generate the heat needed to keep the catalyst clean. With that said, especially not knowing the previous owner's driving habit or maintenance history as you mentioned, I would run a bottle of Cataclean through your tank. This stuff is made specifically for cleaning cats. It reacts with the exhaust gas to help burn off carbon deposits. You add it when you're down to 1/4 tank, and drive it around for about 15 - 20 miles before topping off. Maybe do it again in a few months to give them a thorough cleaning. Of course make sure you use premium gas at least 91 octane.

It's a three year old car. Not much to worry about. If it was a 10+ year old car with 20K on it, then I would worry. Fact is that car is like new. I would not be running additives and cleaners and such. The car is under warranty. If you are really concerned, run some BG fuel injector cleaner and get it on a road trip and or drive it aggressively. Get those injectors opened up and blast any carbon build up out. Again at 9K miles and only 3 years old it should be okay.

I wouldn't do anything but keep up on scheduled maintenance from this point on. The car has less than 10k. It hasn't even broken in yet. No need to run any products through it's system, etc.

Do the oil at 10kmi (I like to do them at 5kmi intervals so starting at 10 makes it easy to remember) and then just drive it. Air filters, cabin filter, PCV's, etc. at 25-30kmi as well as a trans/diff flush, coolant flush, etc. I do fluids every 30-35k and have the dealer do them.

Thank you everyone for your great recommendations! I've swapped out the air filters and cabin filter as they were pretty dirty and 3 years old. In looking at the history, it was sold to someone in Friday Harbor (San Juan Islands), so I'm assuming it was more of a vacation home/weekend car and there are lots of gravel and dirt roads on the island. I was surprised at how complicated the cabin filter is to change - the M35x was a slight pain, this one is a big pain! I wish they were as easy as my wife's Lexus - you just open the glove box, remove the filter door and swap it out - 2 minute job, plus another 5 minutes to remove all of her junk and put it back. The Q70 was more like a 15-20 minute job.

I'm loving the car and have had a lot of compliments already from neighbors.

Congratulations!! I picked up a 2015 Q70L with 17,000 miles. Like you I love the easy switching between Eco/Standard/Sport. However, I've discovered differences in gas mileage when using among the three. However, keeping it on Eco I get 22 miles per gallon, which I am happy with. How is your gas mileage?

Thanks and I'm still so new with it - my gas mileage is low. My first tank ended up at 21.1 mpg, but that came from a lot of fast starts - the car is so much fun to drive. Today I drove in heavy traffic to Seattle with it in the ECO mode and had 22 mpg on a 55 mile trip that took two long hours. No matter what, it gets much better gas mileage than my M35x did - it averaged around 18 mpg.
