Im going to be doin a rb25 swap into my Silvia this spring and an just wondering if the sr20 radiator would be enough cooling for a rb25? or should i go with a koyo unit?

It will be fine with some good electric fans. The 25 sits close to the radiator making it difficult to setup your fans as pullers. With a thicker radiator the problem gets much worse. With that said what I did was notch the radiator support at the top and bottom, weld in a new bottom support and lean the radiator forward to give me clearance for a Koyo radiator and dual 12inch FAL fans.

You don't need to go to that extreme, but I do have some recommendations.

1) replace water pump, cheap and pretty easy to do while the motor is out of the car. (good time to replace the timing belt and tensioners as well)2) nismo thermostat, cheap and easy3) cooling panels top and bottom to direct air to your radiator.

If you have a redicoulsly thick intercooler like I do, the cooling panels are a must.

Have fun.

you cant go wrong with upgrading your rad to a koyo (or other) ...

things like the water pump and tstat are cheap insurance. using the stock sr/ka rad will be suffient but if you plan up pushing the rb harder any track time, then upgrading the rad should almost be a must. BUT you are working in a tight space to begin with so if you are planning to run electric fans ... just like others have found ways to make things fit nicer (or at all!)

upgrading isnt a bad idea, but a stock S14 radiator seems to work just fine for most people.

You probably dont want to use a SR radiator since the neck is on the opposite side. Use a KA spec radiator so you wont have to run a cross pipe(which you dont have much room for)
