Just my opinion, but it's worth it if you race but not worth it for every day driving. If over heating during daily driving is an issue then it's best to find the source of the problem then to treat the symptom.

The 350z's cooling system is more than adequate for a stock motor. The only time I have seen people upgrade them is if they track it like retired said, or if they upgrade to forced induction.

You don't need to upgrade your radiator.

If you want a little insurance for can buy a high pressure radiator cap for $20 or a cooling panel for improved airflow. More bling than function but they're certainly cheaper than a new radiator.

I already made them. 1) A high pressure radiator cap 2) A radiator cooling panel

Something else beneficial you might want to consider is to replace your stock hoses with some upgraded ones, Samco is the brand most go with.

But with winter approaching and you living in Jersey, you might want to think about some winter tires.

I dont mean to hijack this thread but I have a similar situation.2003 350Z with 73K miles. The cooling system seesm to work just fine but in the winter, the heater will blow cold ari while sitting and ideling. It seems like unless the motor is turning at a higher RPM, it wont blow hot and then it does.I have considered radiator cap and repalced it but with a stock one from auto zone like 13lb. I have considered maybe the thermostate or water pump, or maybe clogged up radiatior or ???I have made sure the coolant is up but unless its my imagination, it also seems to use coolant and I have to add occasionaly but I dont see any leaking.
