Only the 93 and 94 j30t's have hicas. The 97 j30 did not have hicas, but in addition it had woodgrain window switches ON ALL DOORS (only drivers is real like the radio bezel). I'm not sure if yours has the passenger and rear switches, but that would be another thing to note.
I have a 93 J30 w/76k and a 94 J30t with 144k. Personally, while the hicas does noticably reduce body roll around the clover leafs, I have no plans whatsoever of swapping the hicas to my 93. Not only do you have to swap out the rear end components, you also have a different power steering setup. The pulley and belt are wider on the 94 with the hicas, which leads me to believe the pump and rest of the components are different also.
No comment on the suspension. My 93 has a better ride, but I attribute that to the milage.
