so, a little cashflow bonus is coming my way. The dilemma is this...Do I purchase a new stage 2 clutch? headers and shox? or a massive weber carb? hmmmmmmmm....what a conundrum. I'm leaning toward the clutch. I might just get a leaf spring kit for cheap along with the clutch, or try and find some inexpensive shox for now. The suspension lift kit will have to wait, since it is just out of my price range and mechanical ability. I want this thing to be a sick off road beast, but keep it as original as possible. Has anyone out there upgraded their clutch and flywheel?

well i'm not sure how you offroad guys do it... but us racing type always like putting suspension and things like the clutch first... thus the reason i am still running my stock carb

i say... as long as the carb is working... do the other stuff first

DO not "upgrade" your flywheel. Use your factory one if its in good condition.

Why stage two clutch? you going turbo? If its not a daily put whatever.

Headers are cheap and help getting rid of alot of emissions.

Suspension work is always recommended by me.

my clutch is orig with 212000 on it, i think. It gets stuck when I'm out in 4wd for a long time, I have to let it cool off before I can shift again. Plus, in all the vehicles i've changed the clutch in the past, it was like driving a new car. Also, I need a stronger clutch so I don't have to worry much when climbing, towing, or just wanting to be speedy. Plus, if you've ever tried shifting on loose sand, it's all about faster is better. Something on this rust bucket should be high performance, why not the clutch? If I can find a cheap way, I will eventually go turbo.

At the age of your clutch, adding the webber first may be bad for the clutch. I would have done the clutch first then the webber.

after going on a sand road, I think the clutch is definitely my choice. It would bog where a good clutch would help the motor pull easier. I will post pics when i get it

I have been checkin ebay motors for awhile. I think exedy makes a stage 2 performance clutch, and there are a few companies that hodgepodge parts to make the kits. I found one for 200 on there, i'm waiting to hear back from the company on wether it comes with a throwout bearing and if it's 4wd compatible.

The clutch project is in limbo for now, decided to sell my civic and get a loan for a newer suv or truck, I don't want to tow a boat with my 720. It barely makes it up hills as it is without pulling any extra wieght lol. If I have any extra cash after the purchase, then I will do the clutch.

go for clutch then upgrade it by getting lift and some super swampers

little 4x4 trucks go through every thing my friends got a toyota and out here he goes through every thing with some 46 inch tires on it its amazing these trucks are good because big tires with light weight its insane just make sure you can get towed out from back and front without ripping bumper off hehe my buddies front bumper wasnt a good bumper and twisted and broke it was funny should have seen his face lol
