Upgrade Bose Stereo

Hi all

i have a 2002 qx4 and was looking at upgrading the existing bose 6 cd changer by installing a bose mp3 player from a 2005 pathfinder. was wondering if anybody has tried this? i wanted to keep the bose sys so that i could keep the steering wheel controls and maintain use of the existign amp. thx for any help u can give me.

My recommendation: Buy an Alpine HU with MP3 capabilities.

Then buy Focal components for the front. Then Focal Coaxials for the rear. Then Pioneer premier amps to drive them.

Don't let the steering wheel control limit your options. PAC has a line of steering wheel interface units, we've used the SWI-X but they have several models. They allow you to use your steering wheel controls to operate any head unit that has a IR remote input. You can really use any button you want. You could even set it up to turn up the volume when you put the blinker on, hehe. You could really mess with people.

They are easy to find but if you want I can get you one. I think I still have one in stock, Crutchfield gets $69.99 for them. I can do it for $55 plus freight.
