Kinda late but Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the ca folks and all of NICO.

My new complete mod list:ca18detBig t25 hybrid turbo SSAC manifoldHKS adjustable wastegateHorsham Developments stage 3 chip (soldered by...ME!) Apex'i SAFC II (the black colored one)444cc GTiR injectorsN60 mafsWalbro 255lph fuel pumpARC super sidemount (sr20 style) Megan 02 housing/flex downpipe homemade 3 inch test pipeRS-R ex-mag cat backApex'i SAFC II the black colored oneBigger dual core radiator (pulled it from another 240)

I recently went to a local tuner garage to dyno and tune the beast but the craptastic stock Garrett wastegate would not cooperate with trying for 18 pounds of boost. With my manual boost controller I could only get spikes to 18-20 then it would fall off to 12-13 pounds by about 5-5.5 k rpm and slowly go down to around 10psi which still yielded me 218whp and an impressive 208ft.lbs. The a/f curve or shall I say a/f line stayed right between 11.6-11.8 through out the many pulls despite the high spikes in boost. I have a video of the dyno run if anyone is interested. ((ALL RUNS WERE DONE USING A DYNA-PACK HUB DYNO), not a dyno-jet , Research the hub dynos to see why I wanted to make that clear. (compare HP figures))

So a few days go by and I decide to go ahead and pick up an HKS adjustable wastegate from frsport.com. I think that people who wanna stick with a t2 series turbo should consider either buying or fab'n up their own adj. wastegate. It holds boost beautifully and its adj. up to around 18-22 psi. well long story short, I installed the HKS gate and set it to 19psi and went for a drive. WOW!!!! its totally different. lol.

Driving Impressions!

To start off with I use Bridgestone Potenza G009 which are fairly sticky tires, if I punch it in second gear around 2800-3200 rpm, wait until about 3600rpm when the turbo gets to doing its thing (18-20psi) the tires break loose and the speedo jumps to 60-65mph until I either lift off of it or the car catches up with the tires which takes no time at all. Grab third and get a nice little scratch . Third now goes by like second used to, 7100rpm, shift into fourth which is no where near as long as it used to be, funny how boost makes everything different with only a few more pounds. lol. I get close to 6800rpm in 4th and shift nice and easy to fifth which actually puts you back into you seat now . By now the speedo is reading the odometer and im close to 6500 rpm in 5th and I can start to see tail lights about 2 miles down the highway so i lift off and engine break down to the speed limit. All of this driving was done on a nice and smooth 3 lane highway at close to 1am which at that time is practically deserted.

My next plan is for a LSD and some sticky tires to hopefully allow me to get close to my 13 sec quarter mile goal. Ill keep everyone up dated if anything new and exciting happens, a.k.a some good street battles with some local v8s whom I would like to take on the highway to show them what the little 1.8l 4 banger beast is capable of now. lol.

Nice lil story mang. I don't know many people here in Washington but it would be nice to be leader of the pack. How fast is 6500rpm in 5th? I can't remember. Sounds like your having fun.

Thanks for the comments... Im having a lot of fun. Im trying to get all the local car guys together for a nice lil compilation video. Classics, Imports, Domestics, Trucks, anything modified... So far its me,R32 skyline GT-R (r34 motor 350+whp) sr20 240, fc turbo, lt-4 camaro, 66 belair (350), z32 300zx n/a , possibly 2 turbo crx's and one turbo civic hatch. But it should be about 8-10 min long of racing, cruising, car descriptions, and some drifting.

6500 in 5th is close to 145-150 I believe. my friend was with me who has done 140 in his 300zx and he said I was going faster soo... im not sure.

ok got my crappy dyno video up. The sound is a few seconds behind the video for some reason. But thats how strait 3in exhaust sounds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnHp7wJBhOU

I'm glad you're enjoying your car "Jake" and rest assured that little turbo is much more than what it seems .

Thanks Dee, im enjoying it very much. Yes that turbo always catches people by surprise. Everyone who sees it ask If im ever going to get a bigger turbo, I just laugh and say not until I want over 300+whp.

My next plans (pending acceptance into the Electricians Union apprenticeship program) is to get some forged pistons, a t3/t4 turbo (all supporting mods) a front mount, and some 850's and shoot for 400whp.

But so far Ive hit 88% air flow on the SAFC using the N60 mafs which is good for 325whp so 325(.88)=286hp. And for anyone who has not been in a close to 300whp s-chassis car, its FAST! like cruising at 75-80 drop to fourth and within 4-5 seconds the speedo is buried.
