Everyone knows that is the new BMW M series V10 engine!

Give them a few more years and they'll catch up to the 90 engine at least it doesn't have floating liners.Returnless fuel regulation is always scarey, cloverleaf combustion chambers and swirl risers on pistons, bearings look narrow for 250,000 mile durability, oh I forgot BMW likes you to rebuild or replace at 120,000 miles.

Looks like BMW has gone to a modular block on the lower end. Have to say the VH45DE with its deep skirts looks more durable to me. Having experienced RTV failure on a Ford Duratec block, I can say for certain there are potential problems and expensive repairs involved with these type of designs.

Okay, I looked at it an hour or so ago and didn'tsee 2 banks of 5 cylinders, but I do now. That is a very similar photo layout.

that V10 has all kinds of parts on it though....I'm just wondering how it's gonna hold up. the 10 individual throttle bodies is pretty neat though.

I wish Ford would actually use the V10 they made modeled after the Cobra R 5.3 DOHC. They put one in that concept Cobra, but that's all I've seen of it...

Actually, instead of throttle bodies, it has continously variable opening intake valves. Very trick.

They are putting the V10 in the new shelby cobra prototype. The last car caroll will personally over see.

Yeah it has slide throttles and runs on 104 octane. Not quite ready for the street. It would be a nice companion to the GT, though.
