I just wanted to let everyone on the forum know about a problem that was recently fixed by my dealership, and if you think you may have this problem you can likely get it fixed as well.

About a month ago I began noticing a loud screech from my brakes when stopping, especially in the mornings or after extended cold conditions. After a few minutes on the road the screeching sound would go away. Around the same time my father(an infrequent driver of the car) began noticing the already touchy brakes on the altima, were increasingly touchy, almost like they were grabbing and making the car jerk.

After an inspection it turns out that I had some lower quality brakes in my car and the dealership I went to installed new updated brakes (front & rear) for no charge. They told me that some earlier models of the 2008 line had used inferior brake pads and they could cause those symptoms.

The fact is, this could be a potential hazard on the road and I just wanted to let everyone know that if they are experiencing anything similar with their brakes, they should definitely contact a dealer.

Hope this helps someone!

fccccckkkk!! I just paid $280 to get them fixed by my mechanic! I was having the exact same thing happen!

Is there anything I can do now? who would I need to talk to? I only have like 11K miles on it...I knew something didn't make sense.
