Had to jump in here to get you folks the straight scoop.

Grand-Am Cup will run two six-hour enduros, one for the Grand Sports (GS) class (bigger cars such as 350Z (won here in April), Mustang GT, Pontiac GTO, Porsche 911, BMW M3) and one for the Street Tuner (ST) class (smaller cars such as Chevy Cobalt, Acura RSX-S and TSX, Mazda RX-8, BMW 330, BMW Z4 and Mini). The USERA (United States Endurance Racing Association) will run two three-hour races. All these races, plus practice and qualifying, will be on the 3.27-mile full course. There will also be pro time attack and GT Sim Race (fans get to ride in race cars on hot laps) on the full course. Amateur drifting and amateur Time Attack ("Tarzan's Lap Battle") will take place simultaneously on the 1.1-mile Patriot Course. Plus there will be rallycross on our gravel rally stages (drive your own car), kart racing on our state-of-the-art 5/8-mile paved karting circuit (drive our racing karts), Spoon Sports Festival, NICOfest, stunt bikes, car show, bike show, vendors, music and girls. Other than that, there's nothing going on...

We are really looking forward to having you folks at VIR, and showing off our beautiful facility. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of help.

Anybody want to share a hotel/motel room with me?

I get discounts ad Red Roof Inns because of my nasa membership, but I dont know if there are any in the area.

I do know that there is a budget inn in Danville with 2 beds with uncomfortable blankets and ****ty water pressure in each room, for $60/night.

Shoot me an email or throw it up [email protected]

Camping never even occured to me. That might be a cool idea, of course I would have to buy a tent or something. I would like to know what everyones plans are.

We could just get a a whole floor of a hotel and have a 3 day party.

camping's awesome when the weathers nice because youre right there, you can do whatever, hang out with people easily, etc etc

however, when the weather isnt nice, camping can easily ruin a weekend

and thats the same thing i was thinking with the hotel

I wonder what greg is doing? greg chime in here and let us know what your plans are. BTW you can send me some of those flyers to distribute, I can post them around school.

Well the weather in October should be pretty nice temperature wise but you never know about rain.

I want to run in the tarzan lap battle, but Im not sure if theyll let me run with my floor-mounted 5 point harness and no roll cage, they let me before, but im not sure. I know its not the safest thing in the world, but I feel that my chances of rolling are remote.

This whole event sounds like it would be GR8! We were talking about having a regional meet for the NC/SC/GA folks the weekend prior to this event, but I'm not so sure how that will turn out with Nicofest going on. I really want to go to VIR and see all the events, my 240 should be ready by then. Post up more details about hotel info, I'd be interested in staying overnight, albeit camping out sounds good too!

BTW,does that $60 dollars for meals also include the cost of entry ($40), or is that separate?

$65 VIP pass is optional. It's a hospitality ticket for people that want to eat cooked meals in the hospitality building rather than get hot dogs and eat at a picnic table. A meal at VIR costs $10 anyway and the $65 gets you 6 meals total as well as hospitality access.

It's money you'd probably spend anyway, we're just offering a better option...

I really wish I could get my car across the waters to participate in one of those type events. hell, I'm still trying to find a decent parking lot to start practicing drifting and learning the limits of the 180sx.

So when do tickets go on sale? I can't remember how it went. If you buy them in advance they are cheaper right?

I want some cool schwag.

Sky - You can buy tickets online right now, for $40 for the weekend, that will save you $10 off the price at the gate, this is what I will be doing, because I know I'm definately going.

I say we get a NICO kart race with a grid standing start at some point during the weekend, their kart track is mega-cheap usually, $30 per half-hour!!! For those of you who go to kart tracks, you know what a great deal that is.

There is just so much to do that I cant even wrap my head around it, I could be entertained for a full week!

surely someone is coming from WI that can road trip with you?

Jesda, you up for it? St Louis is Sort-of like WI.

Im so excited about this, I had a blast a few weeks ago when I went, and that was a motorcycle event, this is sure to be 100x better for me.

We still need to book hotel rooms and such, or someone needs to let me sleep in their tent.
