Update to NTB09-008 Squealing Rear Brake Service Bulletin

Now 2009-2010 Versas are included as well as 2009-2010 Cubes. Before it was only 2007-2008 Versas.

My dealership said this TSB was recently updated (Feb '10) to cover the 2009s and 2010s.

Basically it says to replace the rear brake shoes with a different part.

I was told by my local dealer that Nissan used a material that was meant to last a long time (70K miles or so) but the drawback was the noise. The replacement brake shoes are supposed to be quieter but not last as long. Before the TSB was updated, I had to keep bringing my car in at 7, 10 and 13 thousand miles to have the brakes cleaned. Now I'm getting new pads. Hopefully the squealing stops.

If this is a repost, I apologize. I did search. I'm not really familiar with the new setup yet.

thanks for the info. I cleaned mine at 20k to get rid of the squealing but I noticed my shoes on the back are really worn down. I guess you can have no noise or longevity.
