Well its been a long time since I have posted any of my updates on my car, Originally I had the bone stock 93 vert with 27,000 actual milesMy goals were to do only bolt on mods, to keep it clean but raise the wow factor...

First I will start off with the wheels... No I didn't do a 5 lug conversion I found a nice set of 4 lug's that fit real nice

Those would be 4 17 inch Cabo 115's wrapped in Falken Ziex 912 Tires

before I installed those I wanted some lighting upgrades and actually had these parts in my closest for most of the winter

I present to you the clear/altezza tail lights and smoked front turn signals...

After the wheels and lights got installed I had to do something with that Sad Excuse of a stock stereo system, Poor Clarions after 15 years had been reduced to paper with the foam surrounding just falling off, they sounded like crap... well I had 4 Kickers put in 2 4x6 in the front and 2 61/2's in the rear. Sounds much much better... and to raise the bar one more go I added this...

Kicker 12 inch CVT 400 watts RMS with a zx300.1 Kicker amp that factory bench tested at like 350 watts RMS, its amazing what you can do with a shallow sub, best of all with this set up I can STILL get my Boot in my trunk its a tight fit but it goes Car now has 27,300 some odd miles, I really just want to stop here, so its close to original, I am keeping all the original parts , the factory wheels are stored in the boxes my after market wheels came in and are still aired up, I didn't keep the stock Clarion Door speakers though, their wasn't much left...

one more thing is my new head unit, dual cd mp3 wma, with front usb input and also aux port, its also blue tooth ready so I bought the mic and have it put on the visor so when I get a call it comes through the car speakers and I talk into the mic totally hands free also on the left there is the remote bass knob for the kicker amp

you have to see them in person the camera really doesn't do them any justice, I have had people see the car before and after the wheels and tell me the wheels made the car... and besides who puts show chrome on a 240 its hardly ever done... so I had to be different here is a close up maybe it'll change your mind

nicer wheels? these cost about twice as much as any Racing wheel on the market, triple plated show chrome they don't get any nicer... This car doesn't get raced I cruise around town to turn heads and I show it, Racing wheels are over done everyone has them on their 240's, you have to be different to stand out... type in 240sx Chrome on google and see if you see any results, thats a negative... Search for 240 racing wheels, pages up on pages...the wow factor I was looking for I think I achieved, it turns heads EVERYWHERE, the guy who installed my stereo offered me $15,000 for it, I was driving around town here and a guy was talking on his cell phone, he wasn't paying attention to what was around him but when he saw my car he stopped in his tracks threw up his hands and his jaw dropped when i went by him... thats a wow factor...

and no their won't be any lowering going on here, I live in WV and like my front bumper attached to my car, its low enough for these roads as it is.... its not like its jacked up 2 feet off the ground I have to get low enough to get in and out of it as it is... any lower and I might get rash marks from my *** dragging the ground...

and yes its a sunday driver, I have put about 700 miles on it since I bought it about a year ago and that includes about 200 i put on it driving it back from where I bought it, I live in southern west virginia, i bought it up in northern west virginia, and yeah I'm the 3rd owner the first owner was an older lady and the 2nd owner was a disabled old man, I ran a car fax on it and the dealer gave me all the work records, i bought it from the same dealership that sold the car brand new it had been serviced there its whole life... It is what it is, thats what I want to keep it original but add some updates, the lights make it look like a newer car, the system was definately needed, and shoot me because I like chrome wheels, they turn heads better then racing wheels any day on a side note its seen rain twice since i have owned it, once was when I was driving it back home, and once for about 5 mins I got caught out in the rain, I really could do with out a top but hey since its included I can't object

Its doesn't need slamed on the ground it just needs the wheel gap gone! Mine had a very little wheel gap and was fine for the horrible streets of Fort wayne IN. The wheels aren't quite my taste, but all in all nice 27k mile vert!

Love the car, super clean. But like others here - hate the chrome wheels - just not my style. But it's your car so rock what you got!

You just have to see the wheels in person to appreciate them, they shine so much the camera can't handle the reflections, walmart hub caps I think not, never will achieve the shine these have...

I looked at wheels up on wheels up on wheels, page after page, for something I liked, either they showed all 8 lugs in the universal lug pattern, or looked like crap IMO or stuck out a mile to far or needed the 5 lug conversion, these were chrome, which is what I wanted was chrome, and hid the lugs so you don't see the 4 extra holes most of you have showing on your rims... and were a decent price I got the 4 rims with the 4 falken tires for right at 1,024 mounted and balanced and ready to go on the car... and for your SSR crome wheels, dude they stick out of your fender well a good inch..., you drive that thing a whole lot and your gonna have paint chips on top of paint chips, these tuck under the car and stick out very little, not near as risky with the rocks, the factory paint on this car is in pretty good shape I don't want to FK it up, I am not modding this car out to look like fried rice, its called common sense its a classic car with low miles and will be a collector piece in 10-15 years it all ready is somewhat... With everyone else modding the pants off them and racing and wrecking them just how many will there be left??? their was only 8,320 verts made the more you guys trash and kill yours the more mine grows in value... thanks... I have all the original stuff, I kept it all because if I ever decide to get rid of it and if people want it all factory, it wont take me long to put it right back the way it came, my goal for this car is to enjoy it for a few years till it gets to be like the current Muscle cars and the S13's start bringing top money at auctions and then roll this thing out to barret jackson, and secure my retirement with it... its 15 years old, 5 more years I can get classic plates and insurance on it and in 10 years I can get Antique license and insurance, I am looking at this car from a collector point of view, but having fun with it at the same time... With that said I am done modding this car, its finished doesn't need anything else to be a sunday driver and thats all its going to be...

but at the same time I want to find me a nice hatch back 5sp in the future and cram a 4.5lt Infinity V8 into it and have fun, mod it out to get some track time... but not to a convertible, thats just silly racing in a convertible... you guys do know if you flip it with out a roll cage or any bar your pretty much done for....

here is another angle to grow on

The wheels just have no flow to them IMO. They're all "YEEEEEEAH boi, we be rollin' da Es-Ka-Laid!!" and then you look up and see a tasteful and attractive convertible. If you like them then that is all that matters, just ignore me.

BTW, we're not the crazy suicidal drift masta's you seem to think we are. The vert guys are usually the most tasteful and stock of the 240 folks. And who the hell is dumb enough to roll a convertible? Wait, I remember a guy on here that did, but it was in a Miata

Looks real nice, and I'm glad you're planning on keeping it as a collector's item. I was planning on doing the same thing with my first 240 vert.

Also, I LOVE the way your trunk is done. I'd kill to have that kind of set up. All you need is the Silvia carpetting for the back of the trunk lid and it's be PERFECT!

its clean as hell man, but again, not digging the wheels

but ill say this, you can still have chrome and look nice

You gotta get rid of the wheel gap, and have wheels that flow with the lines of the car better. Maybe VIP styled wheels? It can be pulled off

Yup, the vert forum is a strange breed. We're surprisingly similar here, so don't be surprised that 90% of us don't dig your wheels. Like has been said all ready, you like them - that settles it. Your name is on the title so you can do whatever the hell you want to do with it and there's nothing anyone can do about it. As long as you take good care of that car, we're happy.

SUPER clean car by the way. I'm jealous.

Your car is an extremely low-mileage example in pristine condition and you decided to modify it. Wow. If anything, I would have kept it completely bone stock.

Sorry, the wheels completely ruin it for me. They're hideous. I'd much rather rock the stockers.

Just my opinion. It's your car, your call. I just think it deserves much better than that.

I dont have "racing wheels" and they were 850$ for just the wheels plus my tires are gonna be 315 shipped. Ballin!!

IMO you guys are being a little hard on him...its just wheels. Its not like he put flames and stripes and a big wing and a ugly bodykit on. The wheels could easily be changed if needed.

Everyone is entitled to their own taste!

Also, everyone is entitled to state their opinion about whether or not they agree with your taste. At least you'll find that the comments made against the chrome wheels were done with respect and maturity.

I will say that his modding has kept the car in it's very pristine original condition. There is a lot to be said for that. Wheels are easy to take on and off. Body kits, and other major changes are somewhat more permanent.

If I had a 27k mile 'vert, I'd keep the body and interior bone stock. I'd just put some new wheels on it. My taste in wheels is a little different that aKa's taste is, but that's the great thing about cars.. you mod them to your taste.

It's all good!

aKa.. spectacular car! Keep up the good work.

Loki had me rollin on the floor in laughter for a good 5 minutes.

Anyway, as EVERYONE has said, your car, do what ya want and it is actually quite strange that all of us here on the vert forum have the exact same taste for the most part. I only have a problem with chrome in large quantities, like your rims. s15ands13vert's rims are chrome, but they dont look like flippin dinner plates, so they pass in my book. I'd still take flat black, bronze, or gunmetal anyday. All in all man, you're car is flippin amazingly clean and all of us would kill to have one in that condition. So, as I say, smoke if you got em'.

Test nothing, this thread is pretty brutal by vert standards. The REAL test to get accepted into this forum is finding one of these damn cars in the first place.
