Hey to everyone, my car is running very rich. To the point were the timing has to be advanced all the way to get it to be driveable. My maf is working, coolant temp sensor has been replaced. what else could be making it run that rich. my codes say 12 34 and 43. which 12 is maf and 43 is tps. Im not sure what 34 is though, but my maf lets me rev over 2500 rpm and i set my tps to .46 using a volt meter. The motor has had a full rebiuld using stock 370's.. any help is appreciated. thanks again guys

34 is your knock sensor. Do you have it hooked-up? If your car is flashing 12, then something is up with your AFM's wiring, operation or computer circuitry. Your tps could be bad, but investigate the AFM first as it has the ability to trigger other failsafe codes to prevent you from trashing the engine. That failsafe causes the ecu to go into retard and dump fuel in an attempt to protect your engine. Please take heed to what I'm saying and don't drive your car until you've sorted those issues.

With ignition on, unplug the ecu. With ignition on plug in the ecu and re-run your code check.

Hey dee I did that and its giving me 21 and 43. 21 says its a ignition missing in primary coil. If you could help me with that one it would help.. what to do ? 43 is tps Im not really sure what to do about that. I have a ka throttle body with a CA tps and i put it on .46.. thanks

Have you inspected the ecu plug wires to make sure that any of them aren't disconnected or damaged? Do you have the wires hooked-up correctly out by the battery? Do you have the orange wire hooked-up at the dash connector. Your problem mor than likely lies within the wiring job as stated above.

A busted AFM is just that and they don't self repair; and besides, if it was really screwed-up, you'll be seeing that code 34 as well. Now that they are gone, triple check your wiring. Don't be afraid to pull the harness back out to look it over. I have found that 95% of the problems that members have with their CA swaps on this forum is because they did or had someone do bad wiring job.
