Hey guys, little update on the R50,

Some time ago i got the P1130 code, so i replaced the one sensor, still didnt fix it, replaced the second one and still no go. So i took an air compressor to the lines, no go, finally started changing out vacuum lines and came across the one from the rear of the sensor that goes to the lower actuator thing under the lower intake manifold, it came out without any force! So either a. It blew off when i blee thru the lines or b. somehow got loose. So i found the source of the problem, thing is to put a new vac line in its impossible without disassembling the upper, lower intake manifolds, and then pulling the fuel rail to pull off the last main part of the intake manifold before it goes to the valves, what a PITA, oh yeah and nissan also decided to put the thermostat between the back of the engine and firewall and to change it you have to pull ALL of that off, in a shop thats easily 300+ in labor just for a tstat change, wtf...

Well im going to also be replacing mine anyways as im at 136.5k and i rather not pull this all apart just to do that in 10k miles if it goes bad or something. In the coming week i will also be writing up an EXTENSIVE guide on how to disassemble this all, and it will be useful to all who need to do the following,

Tstat change, powervalve screws, pcv valve, injectors, vaccum line, or any of the other sensors and stuff located down there.

I also wanted to add, anyone local to me, i am in the Allentown, PA area that needs or wants work done to their R50, 2001-2004 with the VQ35 engine, i can do or fix almost anything you want, other then an engine rebuild, pull, or trans pull as i don't have a engine puller and don't want to pull trans's really either.

I can do the work for low prices, or at least cheaper then any shop/dealership, i know people aren't comfortable doing some things but i know these inside and out so why not offer it.

So yeah, anything from spark plugs, codes, sensors, springs/shocks/struts, cv boots, fluids (trans, differentials, transfer case, power steering etc), i can also do aftermarket stuff if you wish like sound systems, headunits, hids, airlift 1000, etc.

I do all my work 100% professional, don't cut corners or anything and if you browse any of my threads or things I've done, you will see all the work is top notch and done right.

Im looking forward to making the guide for you guys as ive used this board a ton, and also if anyone needs work done let me know.

That rear thermostat is not the main thermostat, it's the water control valve. It opens at I think 210 degrees. The main thermostat is of course where you'd expect and is fully opens at 176F.
