Pathy hasnt had any recent work done so no updates on it.

Anyone from here going to nicofest this weekend? Im going for my first time this year with the path, gotta detail it up this saturday. Im going sunday morning if anyone else is going.

The 06 sonata lx has been getting some mods the past 2 weeks,

Got 20% tint in rear, 35% up front, and today installed a 7" pioneer headunit. I must say for a $275 unit it is amazing. Alot faster than the clarion in the path, then again thats already almost 2yrs old. This one has zero boot up time and runs faster all around vs the clarion taking about 15sec to bootup and its a lil slower.

Pics from today, detailed all up.

HU also has multi color leds so i could match it to factory colors which is a big plus in sleekness for me:

Also has projector foglights i put in. 3000k hids in those and 6000k up top. Looks hella clean in real life. I can never get any decent pics of hids.

Questions/comments/etc welcome.

Nice Sonata! My Dad has a '10 Sonata Sport (V6 model minus the V6). Great car so far. Going to the dealer tomorrow for some awful noise whenever turned off.

Mines the fully loaded one. I dont know but its surprising to hear the later models have more issues then the first gen ones. Its usually the other way around. Maybe its a 4 banger thing because my uncle has a 09 gls and has some sort of tip shifter issue.

All i know is at first i wasnt so set on my dads choice of the sonata but it definetly changed my mind when we bought it. Esc isnt too invasive, when its turned off i can light up the front tires all the way till mid 2nd from a dead stop. Takes regular fuel. If your not ripping it, gets great mileage, pushed out 27.3 one time on a 4hr drive. When you are ripping it. It still burns less then the path. I will admit i got the avg mpg down to 16.5. That was some hardcore driving though.

For a fwd family sedan it has balls, even with the more comfort tuned suspension it still handles great. I think soon were getting adjustable coil overs and then 19s, which will set it off.

Other then that we bought it with 52k for 10k in jan 2010. Now has 83.1k and i have really no bad things to say about it.

This has been the only major issue so far. The transmission's in the 09 and up refreshed models have this shifting/downshifting jerk. I got mine reflashed and it's been good so far.

Other than that, it's defiantly a fantastic car. Decently loaded and doesn't look too bad. He averages 35MPG mostly highway. Not too shabby for a midsize family sedan. Just wish the sound system was a little bit better. The base Factory one sounds like paper and a bunch of bricks being tossed around. In iPod or Auxilary mode its fantastic...guess the FM tuners are garbage.

Bought it with 34k kms and it now has 90,000kms. Yep, he drives ALOT.

Here is a video I took of the problem.

You have a Hyundai?

When I read "Update on the other car" I was expecting "Oh no, my Audi needs a new head gasket!"

Hahah, the audi actually got some updates the past month as well.

BBK upgrade

Installed Akebono Euro Ultra Premium Ceramic Pads Front + Rear ($142 for both)

Front Zimmerman 12.3in CrossDrilled/Slotted Rotors - $99 - Old rotors are 11.3in, these are from the A8 sedan. Found awesome sale on them too.

Rear R1Concepts CrossDrilled/Slotted Rotors - $90

MJM Eurospec TT Carriers - $140

Neuspeed Stainless Steel lines - $127

Front new vs old:

Rears:

And Debadged the rear, just left the T with the red slash.

Also running 20mm spacers all around, next up is Front mount intercooler, and either Frankenturbo or GT28 Elim.

Maybe its just me, but i know so many people do power upgrades first. I do brakes and suspension, whats power gonna help ya if you cant stop haha.

And everything on it is great (knock on wood) 131k miles and all i need to do is the front left axle seal which leaks slowly, i just top off the front diff fluid like every 2.5 weeks for now, its a 30$ part but i dont feel like changing it yet lol.
