Like I said in the other thread, I spoke with Rex yesterday... I also spoke with Ben at JWT, as well as Sam at LevelTen..... I will get into that later....

First, I am still trying to get my nitrous going... However, I am having a hard time diagnosing why the nitrous is coming on before the ECU says so. Ben said that (like everyone else said, not doubting anyone) that somewhere there is a switch that allows power to get to the solenoid, bypassing what hte ECU has to say... I took stuff apart today by the ECU, and traced some wires..... And I can see where the arming system goes into the ECU... From this point, nothing looks out of the ordinary... I will get some pictures when its light out, because I dont really know much about this. Ben also said that the correct jet is (IIRC off memory) is .053, but that could be wrong. Im pretty sure that Rex didnt mess with that too much, as when he added the (150 shot) wet setup, that worked independent of the dry JWT...

I think the system will work fine and safely, but I dont want to roast the tires, and also, im afraid the system will spray through the shifts if it does this.. However they say the transmission is good for 1000hp, i wouldnt assume that would apply to shifting WHILE under that...

Also, regarding the transmission, I had a slow shift from 2-3... Especially when cold... Sam at Level10 said that because of the higher stall rate, the 2-3 is going to shift slower.. Dont know why that would ONLY affect the 2-3 shift... But whatever the case is, he seemed to think it wasnt that big of a deal, and that i should just replace the fluid/filter. I think with the external transmission cooler I gotta let the car warm up more, as lately its only been about 1-2 mins... And probably doesnt get to 176F I dont know how fred did this, but I would assume it was about the same. FYI- Level 10 DOES NOT recommend flushing the system. They recommend redline transmission fluid (which is what Ill replace it with) every 30k (im at about 33k), and to drain the pan, and replace the filter. HE said just replace whats in the pan, youll be good for another 30k. I may do the Dennis recommended "home brew" flush by waiting 2 mins (my ATF pump is High Performance, i wonder how much difference hte flow rate is)...

So thats where Im at now.. Im workin on buyin the drag wheels that rex had on the Q...

Good stuff Wes. Nothing like hearing that your transmission is that tough and that you dont have to be too concerned about dropping the hamme on it.

As far as the NOS. No big deal anyway right? The Q is fast as is and the NOS would be that shock factor.

Wes does the car still shift slow even when warm? the reason I ask is because I have driven 2 Level10 cars and they shifted just as hard as the 1-2 shift, especially Robs car, my Q is doing the same thing as yours and im gonna flush again, however if this doesnt work then a JDM trans and valve body from Ryans contact will be my next move, let us know how you like the Redline fluid.

Well I can say Im impressed with the redline fluid, since its 35k since the last time and it still looks BRAND new...

WHen its warm, it still shifts slow but its not as bad when cold... its osmething to be concerned about, but I think from all the city driving me and Fred have done in 3rd gear, we just wore it out much more than anything else. I can say that I am praying (but not expecting) for some change by doing the transmission pan/filter/fluid......

I also forgot to add.. this is important for all people intested in boosting... I talked to Ben, and he said the JWT boost map will work with ANY supercharger, so long as you do not go past the injectors HP rating... So we can use a centrifugal SC, eaton, whatever, and it will work with the same program... It bases its timing and other things off the MAF voltage.....

One big difference between warm and cold fliud is that warm fluid is bigger. I had thought the transmission on my '92 was getting worse AFTER I did an early change. Then I noticed the shifting difference was also effected by incline of the car (I drive steep hills).

So I put more fluid in - beyond the marks on the dipstick - and the problem went away.

I remember when I first got the car the transmission fluid loked too high on the dipstick, but it didn't seem to bother it.

Well then the opposite is true since my problem is when the fluid is cold...

2-3 shift is also being affected by the different rear ratio - Mine does the same thing with the JWT.

So basically its my 4.08, and the 3000 stall converter, thats causing this, and its not harming the transmission???

Sounds like a horrible car. Might as well dump it in my driveway and stop worrying about it.

Yep... my driveway.

Please?
