update on stereo install...

got my amp working great now...it turns out that i had it on bad ground. i think the metal i placed it on has plastic underneath and it would read 12V. Got the back speakers installed and the passenger comp set up but not yet installed in the door. They sound great. One question. Even with my new 85Wx4ch amp it doesnt seem to get a whole hell of a lot louder than the power that was going to the stock...any reason? I mean dont get me wrong...its plenty loud...im just wondering if i wasted money getting 85watts of power and not just 65?? thanks for all the help diamond.

would it be okay to mount the tweeters with velcro inside the door area...a little to the right of the speakers on the pass side? can they get wet? if so can i cover them with anything before hand? already cut wires...for them there...

hurray.its alive!good ending to a good day.they shouldnt nget wet in less there is no door liner,plastic sheet over inner door panel.as long as you like the sound do it.put a line driver in front ofamp raise input voltage to what ever the amp can take turn gains al the way down..i have to go back and see what amp your running.id rather have 85 than 65 watts especially running passive crossovers.once you dial it in it should sound better than stock by far.at first i had mbqyarts 6.5 and 6x9kappas to the 50watt perchanel rockford.and a 10 in a bandpass ,and it was louder than stock 200wattbose whatever.

whats a line driver....thanks a lot...i completely forgot about gain and all those switches ont he back...how do i raise input voltage? also...is there a sound difference by putting crossover in door vs trunk vs behind HU? thanks so much...
