Bought a fully rebuilt engine from another Nico member last October. Installed new SPEC StageIII clutch kit, replaced turbo Compressor .60 / Turbine .48, JWT ECU, Deatschwerks 740cc, SAFCII, Zeitronix Wideband and other necessary crap!

Had major problems with stalling out at every stop light, backfiring and running rich. Took it to Walker who owns a local shop that knew how to custom fab piping. He replaced my hot pipe and installed the HKS racing bypass valve and recirculated it. I told him he could fab it up the way he wanted too. Wow best job I have ever seen bar none!! Anyway car did not stall on me one single time:)

I left the Dec setting on and will need to turn it off and start tunning it. My Zeitronix boost sensor should be here this week. Anyway on the way home my friend in his 98 M3 followed me home and I got on it but barely pulled him. I was like Dam his car is fast stock. I will be posting my wideband readings for everybody to help me get this car tuned soon.

Here are some pics of the new install. Let me know what you think.

Yes Walker did all the welding and custom fitting. To bad you can`t really see the whole IC piping because he did a great job on it.

IIRC I payed 525.00 for the complete engine. Somebody decided that they wanted to do something different so he sold it cheap.

I think it is around 11 to 12 psi, but I have not tuned it with the SAFCII yet. I will need to redo my timing because the old setup it did not want to stay running at idle. I am hoping that the timing is less then 20 degrees and I did look down at the wideband to see it running around 10.5 at wot. My friend took me to the shop in his M3 and it really pulled hard. As soon as I get it tuned I will take it to the dyno and see what it will do.

Hopefully that M3 is modded because those things are slowwwwwwwwwww stock. Your car should be a lot quicker, get it tuned and let us know.

No the M3 is stock. So it appears that I really need to do some tunning to get more out of it. The M3 stock is a low 14 sec car so I am thinking with all the mods I should be able to push over 300 and get in the low 13`s or lower. I will post my afr`s when I get the electronic boost sensor. It was nice to drive it and it not stall out everywhere. I probably have around 100 miles on the new engine.

Just a quick question since you mention M3's. In a quarter mile, how would they compare to stock g35's?

What year are we talking about E36's would probably be a drivers race between a stock 6 speed G35. A new E46 M3 would own a G35. The M3 you raced was a E36 M3 which is in general a low 14 second car, I would figure a KA-T at 11 psi would destroy one even with your size turbo. AT 8 psi on my T3/t4 I was trapping 110 and eating E46 M3's from a roll.

The pipe work looks really good, you should drive up to the Nashville meet this March 25th.

I don`t know if I will have everything finished by then. I still have to have the downpipe that needs be connected to the wastegate and a couple of other issues to fix.

Yes, the ka-t should have crushed the e-36 m3 if it was stock. It only has 240 crank hp.

Yea I figured my car should be faster but I had a lot of problems setting timing on it because the car kept stalling out. It is also a PITA to set it with the UR pulley. I hope to get started tuning Sunday if it doesn`t rain.

All your KA-T are belong to me. The Beemer runs better than I thought it would. When you hit the sweet spot in the boost, you pulled me a bit. I think your in the 13.9-14.1 range as it sits. Put a tune on it and we'll try em again. Gotta spank the Beemer before you can take a shot at the red car .

Good to hear from you. The T/A runs 13.3@107 NA, no nitrous times yet, but I got to spank a new C6 Vette a few weeks ago. Me digging the spray. As soon as Bob gets tuned we'll try em out. I think traction is going to be the biggest issue for both of us. I plan to be at NOPI this year driving God knows what. We'll see ya there.
