So awhile back I started an intro thread and afterwards never really showed myself at the forum anymore.
So I dont like text in between huge pictures, so I will put them at the bottom.
Anyways, I am a senior in high school and I recently had to propose my "Senior Project", which is supposed to be a huge project related to your passion, you can pretty much do whatever you want as long as it's awesome and creative. I proposed to "Restore and build a race inspired car suitable for daily use", and yes, my teachers loved it and it was approved. I am supposed to document the whole process,(which I have been doing) and I made a little list of the stuff I have done and want to do. I am currently saving money to complete this.
Done:
-Bodywork/ Paint
- Spark plugs
-Previous owner installed AEM filter
- Fuel filter
- Removed speakers (implying that is a good thing)
Stuff I want to do:
-Get coilovers or lowering springs
-Get Rear tt rims up front, So i will have 245's all around
- Roll bar
-Fix exhaust leak on left muffler, or even better, buy an exhaust system
- New tires
- New clutch

At the end of the project I want to sign up and test the car at my local autocross. I hope you guys like what I am doing,
if you wan't to support me, feel more than welcome to donate any parts or money, I am not asking you to but I would greatly appreciate it.

Cool project, and a good way to get involved with your car which will help as you also begin to service it.
You may also want to think about nabbing TT sway bars (bigger) when you locate the TT rear wheels (TT parts car?) for a small handling upgrade, and hunt up some older GTR 30MM brakes for another upgrade (requires 17" wheels, though) in an important area for the Z32- stopping.
These are all areas you will want to upgrade for serious autocrossing.

Nice Z. I do love that color on the Z. I am not really an NA or autocross guy but I have a couple of suggestions...
I know these are a bit expensive, especially for someone your age, but the carbon fiber fog light ducts look great with that color and functional. It looks way better than the holes in the front. You can find them here...

My personal favorite for exhaust is the SZ exhaust. They are high quality and have a great sound. They do not sound cheap...but they also are not cheap. If you go with the stainless steel, they are around 1.1k. But not only are they functional, they are beautiful. I will be doing the the SZ exhaust on my car just for the looks.

I know autocross put some stress on the car so maybe you want to think about upgrading the radiator and oil cooler, or at least getting a new stock one if it is beat up. Also, check out your cooling fan to make sure it is in good shape.

You also look into doing some weight reduction. How far you want to take it is up to you...Being an NA, I think this is something you should serious consider.
Here is a great guide

You can do simple things like taking the rear wiper off, the antena, and stuff in the trunk. I mean the mat and the wood piece are a couple of pounds and the spare tire/jack is extra weight too. The stuff adds up. You could also look at getting a light weight flywheel when you do the clutch. Another thing is an aluminum driveshaft...

Good luck!

Thanks for all the help and appreciation guys! My car is currently throwing me a code 34, has anyone had this? if so, how did your car behave? is it a bad idea to bypass it? Thanks

I had it before. The knock sensor itself is very robust but finicky due to slow processors that cannot distinguish engine noise from knock sounds. Worst of all - your car is probably in limp mode so boost is limited. The best thing to do is check the knock sensor wiring itself to make sure bare wire isn't exposed anywhere. That was the cause of mine throwing a code.
