(new pics again at bottom in some other post)

so i love my car and i hate itim so attached to it since its my first car, its the car ive wanted since i was 12, its my realistic dream car, not to mention all the time ive spent on it rather im fixing it, changing somthing, or just sitting there like a dumbass trying to diagnose somthing

ever since the engine swap, it hasnt gone over a week without giving me a new problem of some sort

last night it died out on me while i was driving, and wouldnt start back up at all. Right now its parked in a community pool parking lot with the windows stuck down and everything valuable taken out in my backpack

im gonna tow it to my house hopefully today and try to see what the problem is. The battery isnt dead, but it wont crank or click at all when i try to start it, also the windows wont roll up and the headlights wont go on (but the cluster lights and parking lights will). I checked all main connections, and cant see what it would be, but il take a better look at it tommarow

anyways, heres how the car started. 4 lug, 4x4 suspension, open diff, busted tape deck, blown a** stock speakers, but it ran like a champ!

then i finally traded my xbox i barley used and got a j30 vlsdi had so much fun with this car, and it still got me where i needed to go, reliably

and then, heres the best partmy dumbass spun a rod bearing on this old KA which was still running beautifully by being a dumbass and not keeping up with a simple oil change and messing around in an empty parking lot one night without taking that into consideration

well after 6 months of the car just sitting in my garage, i got the new engine in, did a 5 lug swap (meiji front, used oem rear), had some steering problems, found out it was a s***ty right rear hub

so replaced the rear hubs with ichiba hubsextended studs up front z32 TT wheelslowered with just some tein springs for nownew stereo all around:random generic 4 way speakers up frontalpine type S speakers in the back pioneer deh-3000 head unit which is pretty decent

the car kept giving me misfiring problems, and eventually wouldnt start, or stay started, but i finally took it to the shop and they fixed it by making a stronger connection to the plug that connects to the dsitributor, and it drove great for like a week and i got a chance to snap a few s***ty pics since i happend to have the camera with me

didnt realize the picture quality setting was on low untill after i uploaded them

this is my favorite

i like this one too

then theres these

so like i said earlyer, it started ugly as hell being 4 lug, 4x4 suspension, open diff, busted tape deck, blown a** stock speakers, but it ran like a champ!

Now its actually decent looking and handles good with TT wheels, lowering springs, and a j30 vlsd. the stereo is a HUGE upgrade from what i had before, with a decent pioneer HU, and new speakers all around, and when it runs right, its sooo much fun to drive, but more than half of the time it runs like s***!

this is probably the last straw seeing as i have no money and am relying on my parents to help me out here, and my parents or atleast my dad doesnt exactly want me to have a car, which doesnt makes sense, especially since im in school, but if i cant get this to run right for good, im probably gonna have to get rid of it and get another car thats more reliable

im wondering what i should get... it-NEEDS to be reliable-looks decent -would prefer somewhat sporty, but would probably have to deal with FWD-MUST be stick-somthing not too old unless its in nice condition

anyways, thanks to everyone whos helped me out getting the car back on the road and figure out problems ive had with it

hopefully i can get the car fixed for good and stick around and find a job and replace parts so the car can handle the abuse, and finally get an engine stand and rebuild my old KA and learn a lot in the process, and FINALLY get back on the track and slide again

i just really dont wanna have to get rid of this car and get another. Even though whatever i get will be more reliable, its just gonna mean that me and my dad spent all this money and time on this car for no reason, just to sell it and get somthing else, and as much as i can hate this car at times, i am EXTREMLEY attached to it, and do NOT want to part with it

new pics further down in another post... heres one of em

hey, have you checked the fuel pump? i think that may be the root of your problem. check the fuse under your steering column, if the fuel pumps fuse is gone, replace the fuse, try starting it, if it stutters, and the fuse blows, replace the pump.

thats what went wrong with my car and it worked lol

i feel your pain, these cars can be tough when they die out of nowhere, but the feeling to hear it crank up again is easily the best feeling in the world

instead of thinking about what your going to trade for..

think about what it is going to take to fix it.

dont get rid of it just because it isnt running right. fix it. your in school so you dont have to worry about getting to work right now. dont rush it man.

try to get a job or something. im sure you could make some money somewhere. Sell some parts do something.

just get it running right and your not going to want to get rid of it.

trust me. i went though 8 cars last year. mostly for the same reason that you want to get rid of yours.

keep it.

Are you talking about the big red thing? hahaI definitely had the same problem last year when I was an idiot trying to wire fog lights.... I just went to junk yard and took the front part of it from an Altima and replaced it and ditched the fogs.Congrats on fixing your problem

you should never have that many people in a 240.

sweet progress though! time to go lower, perhaps. and some nicer wheels.

looks good man! But don't get rid of her!!! Your 240 has all of those requirements you mentioned for a reliable car, there are just little problems that need to be addressed.

that is a fusible link ...... DO NOT REPLACE IT WITH WIRE I REPEAT DO NOT REPLACE IT WITH WIRE

only retarded people do that first of all there is a reason it popped that link find the problem replace the link and it should be good

stupid people that dont find the problem and just say "hey im gonna stick wire in it bc it looks like wire"

get a car that burns to the ground NO FREAKING JOKE

no ghetto rigging allowed with that

If you want it reliable stick with your ka and slide it. I sr'd mine and its ran maybe 2 weeks in the last 6 months. Im parting it out to buy a stock 1 to throw suspension on and rape at a drift competition!

i see how you're trying to make your car lower

hope you fixed the problem for good this time, i was thinking of selling mine too at one point but decided there was no better car out there that is affordable for me at the time.

wtf are you trying to say? it looks pretty obvious to me from the pics that they are TT wheels

look at back you can see how there wider and a lower offset than the fronts

and what we did was just connect the wire back to that fuse link plug thingy whatever, cause we couldnt find a new link thing locally that was the right size

anyways im back on the job huntonce i get the job, in the near future i have planned for the car

-20% tint, 15% in the back-New tie rods (either moog tie rod ends for now, or just brand new tein inners and outters)-new RUCAs or somthing to fix rear camber (my inner rear tires wear pretty fast)-New steering rack bushings-dynamat or some other sound deadening-some short ram intake -new spark plug wires-ST swaybars-buy an engine stand-start rebuild of old engine for boost!

i put na wheels on my car with the 5 lug swap with wider tires on the rear and it looked exactly the same in the rear

i was under the assumption that the tt wheels were only in polished alum.

i showed this to the local z guy and he confirmed that they are tt i stand corrected

i only went on the side reference pic and did not see the offset difference of the rear wheels

once again i stand corrected sorry......

haha I had the same issue when i bought my 240. Had the LOVE HATE relationship going on. Then it started f***in up 2 months later, first the starter silenoid, then the starter gears werent gripping right and made this incredibly loud squeeling noise when it desengaged (my bust for bolting it back on to tight), then my alternator went out, then my gf wrecked it into a curb and f***ed up the control arm, then my exedy hyper single clutch plate got extremely thin and starting making horrible noises from a dig, then (the worst) it started havin mass blow by issues,

I finally said f**k it and did a full build on the engine, and fixed every possible thing that was wrong with it while it was already apart. Now its in the shop and im tryin to be patient in gettin it back lol. there goes 4500 bucks. i swear if something inside that engine goes wrong after this ima burn this car to the ground. after i take the 10k worth of parts off of course.

its running good now, just time for a job so i can make it a little nicer

as of now im keeping the TT wheels and its gonna look stock untill im boosted

once i get my tint, im painting the wheels a nice gunmetal that wont look like a rattlecan job, shaving the nissan hamburger up front (tried already but cant get that f***er off.. any suggestions?), painting the nissan emblem on the tailights black, and either painting "240sx" black or just taking that off. also lookin for a 96 grille

then once i have my intake, exhaust, new struts, tie rods, RUCA, swaybars, and suspension bushings, ill get an OEM front lip and refinish it, kouki skirts, and rear valances.

after boost ill get a jdm kouki rear bumper with matching valances, kouki tails and a subtle lip spoiler, and ill decide between repainting it and keeping it zenki with german glass or different headlight covers and some projectors if i can buy them off sombody who does em clean, or just going kouki

anyways heres some random pics i snapped like a week ago

cars dirty as f*** especially in the rear, but i think its obvious why

I don't think your tire wear problem in the rear is the camber. Camber doesn't kill tires, toe does, especially for DD. Make sure your toe is up to spec and if you DO get RUCA's, install adjustable Toe arms as well.

I just got an allignment about a week ago

the front doesnt really stay cuz my tie rods are pretty bad but the rear should be fine

im not gonna lie, ever since i got my car back running about a month ago, it hasnt rained once untill like 3 days ago, and i couldnt resist the temptation, so im sure that REALLY sped up the wear process lol

but the point is that the inners are pretty much bald and the outside half is perfectly fine... its like night and day lol ill take a pic tommarow

luckily its been raining nonstop, and now that i got it out of my system (6 months without my car was f***ing hard lol), im done sliding in the dry untill i have a job or drift spares
