ok well i got my sway bars in other day an have been working on installing them i changed out my rear one took about 1 1/2 to do it start to finish on the rear it would have been easier if i didnt have dual exhaust cause i would have had more room to work with. It mounted up well except the mid bushing bracket needs to be milled over about 1/2in to the left to have a little adjustment on both sides which is no biggie with a dremmel because its causes the bushing to be in the bend about 1/8 of a inch on both sides. the factory measured 16.10 mm with my dig caliper an the addco measured in with a 22.52 mm. well than i got started on the front got it all apart but the driver side swaybar link i couldnt break it lose with my cheater bar the place i had change my struts an shocks decided to put them on with a impact so i had to wait till the yesterday to get them to remove it well that i started to mount the front bar but it didnt fit its the same width an height as the oem but the bend on the passager side front bend was a little off from the oem causing only 1 of either side to line up cause it would make the bushing an mount be about halfway in the front bend on either side so i called don an im sending my oem bar plus the addco one to them to get a new one made to match the oem for no charge im a little upset at the fact that the oem was 27.16mm , 1.062inches in an addco was 28.64mm 1.154inches it says there are soppose to be 1 1/4 inches. also i look at the oem mounting bracket up front which has four bolts an theres has 2 even though its almost 1/4 inch thick im still wondering how safe it is i will update ya when i get my new front bar back the week after next. but from driven around yeasterday an today with the back bar i can tell a difference i cant wait to get the new front one put on here is some pics. tell me what yall think.

Not to be a d!ck or anything (seriously - I really am not intending to come of d!ck-ish) but...

Is there an easier to read version of this? With capitalization and paragraph breaks; this just hurts my head.

I second this!

By the way, mine should arrive by next week! I ordered the rear one since I was having problems with the rear bushings, if I install and like them, then I will order the front one. But they take so long to arrive...I purchased on Feb 8 and it finally shipped today. (stupid backorders..)

yeah rear was pretty simple ive been talking to them about extending the swaybar a inch on each side
because of the bushings being in the bend.
Image
i took this photo b4 i cleaned up the bar after the install they are only 2 fixs for this move both swaybar mounts inside a couple of inches or extended the bar a inch or so on each side.
i came up on this problem when mounting the front one i sent it back along with my oem to get a new made.

Problem with the front one? You think they will fix it for future purchases? I do not want to order and get one that I would have to send back...

yeah i sent them my front oem bar to go by. Which 4wd an 2wd are the same ones they should make the change i thought it was just mine cause im the first 2wd to do this that I an the addco engineer is aware of. I hope they fix the rear on to make it a little longer on each side ive sent pics to him an talked to him friday about it cause i might have to move my rear swaybar mounts inwards about 1.5 inches. Ya will c a difference i do with just the rear one on now makes the rear more firmer an does not sway at all. i can't wait to get my front one back to put it on an put my frontend back together. my main concern is the front mounting hardware i mean were goin from a 4 bolt brace to a small 2 bolt one how safe is it going 2 b.? Will i have a front end vibration cause of it? I've asked him these questions an he assured me that it would be fine But only time will tell.

So the front one does not fit right and the rear one is too short :|
I am worried now since I am also 2WD and had already ordered the rear one which should arrive by the end of this week.

you can run it like mine till ya get it fix or give addco a call an c bout sendin ya a new design one that is a couple inches longer on each side. They are aware of the problem maybe i got bad ones i aint sure. But there fixing my front for free as for the rear ill have a talk with don an daniel about replacing mine tommorrow.
I wanna run a strut tower brace but unaware of what car thats has a strut brace made for it that would fit are strut towers i could extened it an modify it to work. I can get one made from scratch through my machinists on his hypertherm cnc machine but im afraid it would cost a fortune plus you got to have somebody to design it to work cause there is more to it than mounting a bar from one side to another. I know i would use alum mounts than hollow steel tube or hollow box type because of strength an weight.

I installed the rear one today. Fitted nicely. Here is a pic of OEM and the addco one. OEM is the dirty one.

Its explained here: http://www.suspensionconnection.com/cgi ... y-bar.html

I only did it because my rear bushings were bad and had horrible body roll when cruising above 60 mph at around 2000rpm. This sway bar included urethane bushings and since I needed new bushings I thought I should order this sway bar which included it and also improve handling

well i wish mine was goin smooth i got my new front bar in the mounting points lined up this time. well now i have ran into several problems now i just installed a new swaybar end link last week. First off i had trouble getting the swaybars into the endlinks wouldnt sit right as ya can tell by the pic it has the top of the swaybar link the part mounted to the shock tower maxed out on both sides. An when i took it for a test drive i hit a big dip in the road while in the turn an heard a pop so i drove back home an removed the bar. An notice that the top of my swaybar endlinks wont budge they will go side to side not up an down there stuck at the top i think i bent the bolts. I then thought maybe turning the bar around to see if it would help it did it was easier to put bar on endlinks but now its sits .25 off the tierod ends so i just pulled it off. On top of that i used my new electric impact with my 65 pound torque limit bar on the mid bushing mounts i pulled the treads out the mounting holes didnt notice till the last one bolt. They were not taking full torque from the gun but still damaged them. Lesson learned on that but i did install my missing link it broke the control arm bolts loose like nothing. I am sending the front addco bar back as soon as they send me my oem back an put it back on. No since in going through this much trouble for a 3 mm difference in size they should be sending my new rear bar monday.

Why does this kit only fit the 01 and up? what changed on them that would prevent me with a 96 from buying this kit?

Thanks

According to courtesyparts.com the 96-00 (01/00-05/00) front bar is a 54611-R5001 an the 05/2000 to 04 is a 54611-R50002
http://www.courtesyparts.com/pathfinder ... _4802.html

The rear 96-98 is a 56230-R50001 an 99-04 is a 56230-R50002
http://www.courtesyparts.com/pathfinder ... 4800_4804.

Maybe someone with a little more knowledge can chime in on this but from what i can see the rear one will work on the 99 im not sure bout the 96 though. Its been trial an error a little more error than trial for me. but i can tell a big diffence in the rear im running just the rear bar with no front bar an i still don't have much body roll. You can get more info from Don at swaybars.com send him a email he is out of town for a few days. And if they fit mention are forum an get 10 to 15% off with free shipping.

Well i just installed my rear 2025 addco sway bar on my 2003 QX4 and i must say i noticed a HUGE improvement on handeling and steering responsiveness! I ordered the front and rear from suspensionconnection.com and used their SPRING15 discount code which saved me an additional 10 or 15% i think it was. The front sway bar is on back order unfortunately, and i should be receiving it in two to three more weeks.

So just to confirm, they did apparently resolve the fitment issue with the rear bar atleast, as mine fit pretty well. They might have actually extended the bar a tad much as my MOOG sway bar end links are pushed out pretty close to my lower trailing arm. I actually had to remove the grease fittings that attach to the outside bottom of them. But all in all, i am really satisfied with my purchase so far. Night and day as far as they perform compared to the old tiny OEM ones. I also am about to put my 22's on as soon as the tire shop is done boring out the hubs.

After a wasted afternoon trying to install it, I can report that Addco has not fixed the problem with the front sway bar.

The bends are still about an inch too wide to allow mounting.

Quite a let down after waiting 4 months for the bar to arrive.

I can report that the rear bar fits fine, and makes a huge difference in handling- creates a nice neutral cornering attitude.

Now I just need to send the front bar back.

 :nono: :bs: :wtf2:

Yup, i can comfirm this too. After a wasted morning and afternoon, i ended giving up and taking the new addco front sway bar off, and put the old one back on. The mounts do not line up properly with the flat part in between the two bends on either side. Bushing and clamp were at angles riding into the first bend coming from the middle of the bar and going outwards. Plus another weird thing was that the bar was pushed too far to the driverside making it rub up against the bottom of the strut base while the passenger side end of the bar was off a good inch and a half the strut base. Even though the bar was centered at the mounting points riding the same amount of the bends. Sucks after waiting 2 months, i too am going to send my bar back to addco:( And i too thought the design at the mounting points was a little iffy compared to the stock brackets with 4 bolts each.

any update on this?
did the drivers with the front swaybar fit issue get it resolved by addco? or did you end up returning the bar altogether?

sorry been gone from the forum for a while.. but i'm not sure if they have fixed it i did send my front sway bar to them to match it but still had to luck i was able to fit it but had my swaybar links maxed out and i questioned the brackets as well i test drove the truck an when i hit bumps an made sharp turns had a popping noise coming from the endlinks. so just removed it an sent it back an replaced with stock... right now im debating on rather or not to invest any more money in the pathfinder cause as i posted in previous pics i had quite of a bit invested in it the whole fiberglass inlay i had done under the hood crack around the edges about 6 months after due to i assume the expanding an contracting due the broad heat ranges under the hood. so now im probably either going to sell it or redo under the hood an just filling in all the holes an get my upholstery guy to make a heat shield or something. i want to lower it but im at 32" front an back now with 22x8.5 +18 offset with a hankook 265/40/22 tire an only have slight rub issue in reverse full left turn. plus with the issue people had with the 2" drop not working cause there factory springs are worn out or the new springs have a issue
