Well here ya go guys. The motor isn't in yet its been almost a month since I ordered my mounts from E-E Motorsports. Grat guys to work with Eric is very honest but I still don't have mounts hopefully they come in on Thursday.

Heres the car before I bought it... all smashed up and the gayiest tail light conversion I have EVER SEEN.

Eww.... I got it in running condition for 500 bux! Leave me alone it was a deal! Or give me props for having ballz to even attempt hookin this car up.Here is the new 240 in primer and some of the engine bay.

Heres the reverted tail lights

Cleaned for paint

And here it is all painted up. All done by me...

While paint was out I painted some of the engine components...

RB25DET yummy!

Hybrid piping I got for 225 shipped...

HKS plugs came with the motor how sweet

Here is how it sits now until I get MOUNTS!

More to come tell me what you guys think!-Alex

Ya, very nice job on the tails and on the engine bay. What did you use to paint it? Looks professional.

Also, where did you get the piping for 225 shipped? Ebay?

Personally I give you props for what your doing. Why? Well because I'm in the same boat as you. I'm going to pick up a 90' Hatch with missing bottom end and other misc stuff. Overall the paint is good and shouldn't be too bad. Plus I got it for $400 including towing. I'll post pics. I can't wait to start sanding it to get it ready for paint like you.

Man I am so hyped up about getting this thing on the road. Thanks for all the input guys I'll post more pics when I get stuff done like get mounts and hopefully paint it this weekend.

The paint I used was stuff my painter from another shop had laying around in his spray booth. He jacked t so I could do my jams and my engine bay atleast and then I cleared it all with Dupont that we had laying on the shelf. I'm trying to keep it low budget but have a nice professional looking job done. Only way to do that is get deals and do it yourself.

The body was pretty bad I had to replace both fenders, hood and drill all the slop welds out and replace the whole damn core support! Talk about being a beyotch. Next things next... get moutns put the motor in and paint the car. I got the piping used from a guy named brandon on NICO used almost new and it got here next day from Ohio.

I found my new wheels... I'll take pics of em when I get it ready. 15" 5 star American racing wheels with 275/50R15 BF drag radial tires... Im ready to pull the wheels. i'll post up more pics later tommarrow thanks fellas!-Alex

Tell me about it! When I had my friends over to watch my redo it they said I was a mad man for even trying. The guy before used fiberglass and expoxy glue Dayum was that **** hard to get off! I was whacking at that thing with a sledge hammer. then when I get it all out I find out that the guy beat in the upper side corners..... so I had to pull it them back out and rebuild them. Came out pretty good as you can see got over spray on the lights I left them in so I knew where I was at with the body work and went to lunch. Tommy came by and sprayed over them.

The exhaust was half a$$ed just to see if it fit right. Its 3" all the way back held on by 1 hanger and I didnt have the dougnuts for the back muffler because the original didn't have any.... I gotta go get some and when I get a band saw I'm cutting the tip down about 1/2 of what its out now... Its too ugly being that long. More pix later guys thanks for the motivation!

Yeah I'm crazy like that. I love a good challenge but the body work... oh man does it suck. The drivers side whole rocker panel was replaced and they welded it in crooked. not to mention the holes in the trunk lid. hopefully I get my mounts tommarrow and I'll get pix up asap!-Alex

I give you huge props.. but for 500 I'm sure you could have found a better shell with a blown engine. =p

God that was hideous looking. What kind of idiot did you get this from?

From how the engine and the car looks so far I can tell this is going to be a nice ride when finished.

Go smear it in his face when you're done with it. Maybe he'll get a clue and think twice before he riceify's a vehicle again.

Good job!

LOL, I plan to smear it in his face. The weird thing is when I came to buy it he had another white 240 sitting there waiting for an sr20det to go in. And it was nice too I don't understand wtf he was thinking. Hopefully my mounts come in today so I can start... man did my dad jump down Erics (E-E motorsports) throat... I kinda feel sorry for him cuz my dad chews my *** out everyday and hes the type of guy you don't want to be bitched from! Body work should be finished this weekend if I'm not either doing other work for F'in off.

Let me guess ^^ You work for a Performance shop, or a body shop? XD

Man ^^ That is coming along nicely. Takes alot of resources to do something like that I bet, for a normal person with no shop it would not be worth it.

Taking it to some place to get the body fixed, then having someone paint it along would be more expensive then the car is worth ; ; But if you have the stuff/place to do it ^^ It costs time and parts.

What engine are you going to be putting into it? RB20 or 25?

There should be a motor pic up there its an rb25. Its not a performance shop we just do regular minor and major repairs, but my boss and the old cooter take in a lot a resoration jobs so I get to work on alot of muscle. I'm the import guy of a 4 manned shop and everyone likes to stare at my engine bay with no motor when they walk through the door lol, I love it. Here are some pix of some other cars I worked on:

55 Chevy Bel Air with a small block, as heavy as this thing is we managed to get it to pull the wheels! lol

78 Corvette 25th anniversary.... Worth over 100k but the chick that owns it painted it BLUE Suppose to be grey on dark grey with Indy500 on the side now its worth Jack

365ci V8 Chevy S-10 for sale[IMG]

Body work comes pretty easy to me I just need the motivation and patients to do it right. No second will be spared making this body clean as a whistle!

Tail lights.... I was so scared to take them out lol but it looks damn good now so well have to see how it turns out when I start adding color.

Thanks again guys!

Ooh, nice vett. We got a 1969, but when they restored it in Texas they put a diffrent frame in it because it was rusted. It is perfectly legal in Texas, and should NOT make the car a salvage title because it was meirly a restoration. BUT the woman at the DMV here in Arizona wanted to make a name for herself, or had a wild hair up her *$$. Anywho, she called the cops out to take the thing away from us because it had 2 diffrent vins on it. When the police came out they told her to F off as none of the vins were stolen. So instead she decided to make it a salvage title >.< Hatefull woman . . .

I'd tell her to stick it. How did it have 2 vins? only place fo vins are the dash, firewall and door jam. This chick that owns the car made the thing a complete loss. It should be worth over 100k but now its worth jack.-Alex
