Well boys, it sure has been a long year of financial ups and downs. I also moved to San Diego and became self employed. I lurk the vert forum almost daily and I finally found the passion and a few bucks to get back at the vert.

I ordered a Haltech 350Z ecu and am currently in the midst of building a "milspec" engine harness for the car. I am hoping by doing this I can eliminate a lot of unnecessary wiring and also be able to route all the wires where I want them. I also removed all of the chassis wiring from the engine bay by cutting all 62 wires under the core support and running them back into the car and resoldered/reloomed them under the dash. Boy did this make a huge difference in cosmetics! I also ran the power wires and lighting wires in shrink tube up high along the fender rails to keep them out of the way of those pesky tires.

Not a huge update but wanted to contribute to the site. I will update as I route the vacuum lines for the ITB,s as well as the engine harness wiring.

If this interests anyone let me know and I will go into further depth should there be interest.

New power wires and lights under fender - Still haven't decided where the blue stereo wire and inline fuse will mount?

AFTER - MUCHO cleaner! Don't you agree?

That is one fine machinery. Will you be able to close the hood?

Thanks for the comments guys.

casper - I'm flattered to hear that. I am trying to get it back on the road in the near future. I hope to get some more hi quality images of the car once it's running.

94 - Yes, I can close the hood. The ITB's actually sit lower overall than the stock plenum. Previously I had to prop up the back of the hood with spacers due to the height of the throttle body and cable placement. Plenty of room now!

If you notice in the last picture I had to change from a 350Z driver side valve cover to a Murano/Maxima cover due to the length of the oil filler neck. I have buffed the filler area down and sealed it. It has been replaced with a -an fitting at the rear of the cover to fill oil. There has been a lot of work and trails gone into making this Extrudabody ITB set up just fit the motor properly. I am sure it will all be worth it the first time it fires!

P.S. Most of you remember I had damaged (rod bearing) the previous VQ35DE motor out at a drift day in 07'. This new motor has been built from the ground up w/ every internal part being replaced with an aftermarket upgrade and the oiling system built beyond buff to eliminate that from happening again. I am sure you all can understand the anticipation that I have to drive this machine.

Good stuff, Mick.

I'm trying to decide what to do with mine now...

Sell it, LS swap it, or completely revamp it....

Mick,

I have to give you a Thank You. I was the person that contacted SPD, in which they needed some parts from you to look at. Thank again!

Yea man.....I spent an evening MF'ing you. lol. Scott from SPD Metal Works asked me to remove the engine mounts from my car and deliver them to SPD to make a jig so more people like yourself can enjoy the power of the VQ!

It was my pleasure. transmission mount coming soon!
