Well a oil change or water pump change won't really do anything for "performance" per se. The OEM water pump is more then capable of handling flowing capacity of the SR. If you want better cooling then maybe look into a big aluminum radiator, or oil cooler.

As far as oil recommendations I usually go with a heavier weight. I don't like using 5w/10w-30. I think it's to thin. I always use full synthetic 10w-40. I use Mobile one usually. Some run Royal Purple but i personally know 2 people who spun bearings using Purple 5w-30. I think it was more due to the viscosity rather then the oil itself.

Just go full synthetic 10w-40. And for water pump just use the OEM pump. The OEM water pump is pretty much as good of water pump as any.

thank you, say that putting SR20VE VVL pump is a good option, know something about that!

JUN makes an water pump for racing applications that is super expensive. Meziere makes a high flow electric water pump for the FWD SR20. I've seen one member on here who adapted it to his S13 RWD SR20. Most companies make an underdrive pulley for the stock water pump to help cavitation issues at constant high RPM (such racing, drifting, etc.) The stock pump works fine on the street. As far as the oil pump, I've heard of people using the VVL pump too, but you have to modify a few things for it to work. YOu'll have to search the forums for that info. I think there's a write up on NRR or FA. Jim Wolf Technologies used to make a high flow oil pump for the FWD SR, but they no longer do. You could contact them and see what they did and if will translate to the RWD platform. Then, some people shim the stock pump spring to cause it to run slightly higher pressure. I don't like this idea too much though.
