M35 has an odor in the cabin that smells like vinegar. Seems to come from the ventilation system. It comes and goes, has been doing this since car was 2-3 months old. Very annoying! My previous car was an Infiniti I30, and it did the same thing! Dealer didn't know what it was either. Is this a characteristic of Infiniti cars that I just have to live with? Anybody have a suggestion?Unhappy in Scottsdale

This is typical of most cars that use the AC alot.

It is stagnant AC condensation. It comes and goes. Kind of a like a foot smell sometimes.

Get a can of FrigeeFresh, close windows turn heat on full blast, open up the hood and spray into the fresh air inlet for 15-20 seconds and let it sit for a minute or two. Repeat twice or three times and then put A/C system on Recirc and let sit for 5 mins. We used to get a lot of complaints about musty odor smell from a/c vents, there was a tsb to use some really strong chemical that I feel didnt work efficiently enough so I started doing this and never had a complaint or cust come back in 4 years.Cheers

Many thanks for the tip regarding the odor in my M35! Based on my dealer wanting $130 for a new microfilter plus $125 to spray some "secret chemical" into the ductwork, for sure you've saved me some money!!! I doubt that FrigeeFresh is $125. I may need a new filter after just 19,000 miles (????), be that as it may. Wish I could replace it myself! Anyway, thanks a lot!!!
