Sadly, my story ends a bit different.
My belts were squeaking and I reached down to check the tension and I felt fur. Much to my surprise it was a dead orange tabby. Having just lost my dog I could not attempt to remove it. I called a neighbor boy (11) and offered him 20 bucks. The cat was stuck and the kid had to remove the plastic shroud. After an hour of tugging with barbecue tools it was obvious the cat was not coming out. It was wrapped around the fan pulley and dangling over the steering components. After the tugging the cat started to leak fluid, then it pooped on the young boy. Frustrated, I drove to the hood and asked some homeless fellows (who were eating ramen out of a cut off two liter) if they want to make 20 bucks.
Without hesitation he went under the car and started pulling, but no luck. An hour later and with six homeless ex-cons they decided to tie a rope around the cat and pull. The head went one way and rolled into the street, leaving the torso. A few ties and tugs later out came the back half. They gave up on the shoulder section but I gave then a solid 30.00 for their efforts. In the morning I was of the the detailer with the front paws dragging on the ground. The detailers had a good laugh and chased each other with the remains. The said "no charge" but I gave him ten to get lunch.
