Hi, about two month ago, my 07 CVT versa started to rev really high and stays high in the morning when i first started the car. At 40mph its at 3k rpm and 50mpg, 4k. It usually happens for the first 2-3 miles and it will be back to normal. And last week when the engine service light were on, i went to the dealer to have it fix the light is gone but the problem still persist when i drive it this morning. I am afraid of getting on the freeway in the morning now because of the high rev and i drive mostly local now.

Has anyone have this kind of problem. is this an engine or CVT problem? Because it only happen in the morning, im worry that if the dealer cant see the problem, they wont be able to fix it.

My current mileage is almost 20,000 and its driven for almost two years. Thanks

If it's only after a early-morning first-start then the best thing to do is leave it at the dealership overnight so they can replicate the trouble.

Basic warranty 36-month/36,000-mile coverage, and 5-year/60,000-mile limited powertrain coverage.

Get it documented post haste -- make sure they write the problem down on a work order and keep a copy for your records.
