Hi all,

I'm experiencing an odd issue with my pop up headlights on my '93 240. A few months ago the headlights stopped popping up and retracting properly. The driver's side headlight would frequently not come up. Anyway, so I replaced the gray relay for the headlights near the battery, and all has been good.

Tonight I was testing my hazards/turn signals, and when I hit tried turning the headlights on, the same symptoms happened again. This is only appearing to happen when I have the hazards on, OR if I let the parking lights stay on for ~30 seconds and then try the headlights. If I just try to use the headlights as normal, I cannot replicate the problem. Maybe I should try replacing the other 2 relays near the airbox? Any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you.

might be the motor,or the grounds that come off each headlight might be corroded.

honestly sounds like wiring. when your other lights are on, you dont have enough voltage to run those and the motors. check your grounds first, you could be losing voltage there(very likely) if those are good, grab a meter and start testing for voltage and find out where its dropping off at. good luck

Thank you very much for the advice Wc240 and dsm007. I do not think there is a problem with the motors, as this issue only appears to be happening under a load. I will try to find a wiring diagram and check/clean the grounds, then go from there.
