After rebuilding the engine in this Vert and preparing to reinstall the engine.I notice that after carefully reseating the torque converter onto the main transmission shaft, when I measure the distance between the engine block and the flywheel mount face and compare it to the distance between the bolt mounts on the converter and the bellhousing of the slush box there is about an inch of distance between the block and the flywheel face but when i measure the distance between the bolt mounts on the converter and the face of the bell housing the gap is about half of that.So this means if I mate them I am going to have about a half inch gap in between the bellhousing of the transmission and the block. Not good.Anyone have a photo of the auto transmission face inside the bellhousing with the shaft properly mounted or have any idea why this gap exists. Any diaghrams would be most helpful.
