OK wtf! i have an idle problem and i cant get it fixed. Heres the 411. I have a SOHC 5sp that when i stop the idle will drop like a rock and try and stall. Also i noticed that im always locked out of my gears and have to play around to get the sucker in gear. One other thing is the BPT is suking air all the damn time? i floor the gas and the cars acceleration just remains at a constant.

Replaced: IAA, SCV VALVE, PR CONTROL VALVE, AUX AIR VALVE, IAA CONTROL VALVE, PLUGS WIRES, O2, CAP AND ROTOR, Adjust this and adjust that! :( :(

The bpt valve does bleed off vac until there is enough exhaust back pressure to close the bpt valve and direct that vac to the egr and open it off it's seat. Is it possible that it's running rich? check coolant temp sensor and connection this will cause stumbling and stalling. Check the tps adjustment, fuel pressure, and timing, timing jumped one tooth will cause stalling, rough idle etc. Also the sohc's had some harness breakage where the harness turns from the firewall and goes down the injector side. This can be checked by moving or wiggling the harness when running. Any change indicates a problem.

it is running rich. my biggest concern is the gear lock out??? why would i be locked out of my gears while driving normal? Just a little more description fuel psi is up to 40+Vacuum is at 20The cars acceleration is "restricted" and seems to be engine breaking on deceleration. AIV starts suking air during deceleration. the coolant temp sensor had some corossion which i cleaned off and it helped.iaa checks are goodscv good but i noticed theat there is no vacuum to the aiv control valve of the canister.........but all hoses are intact and not leaking.

Any and all help is appreciated...... im coming to the end of my nerves and bottom of my wallet.

It sounds as if you may have a couple of problems. The gear lock out sounds as though you may have a clutch hyd. problem. Possiblie not enough travel in the hyd. or pressure making it hard to get into gear. The aiv sucks air into the ex. on deacceleration to help the cat. to burn off emissions by adding extra O2 this is normal only you don't want exhaust blowing into airbox, this will through the air temp sensor and hot film or wire out of range and cause very poor performance. I hate to say it but it might be time to take it to the shop!!
