Tools Needed:1. Something to cut with (a razor knife)2. A rachet set3. Screw Driver4. A poor outlook on life

Step 1. Unbolt your driver side seat - 4 bolts. This shouldn't be difficult.

Step 2. Remove seat (Don't forget to unplug seatbelt light harness wire - it's under the seat).

Step 3. Remove Rear Butt Seat (whatever it's called...the part you sit on). Lift the front end up a bit and you should be able to see where two metal tabs (one for each side) fit into a slot. Keep tugging and wiggling till it comes out. You might have to bend it a bit.

Step 3. Remove Rear Back seat (the part that you lie your back on). There are two slots on top and two tabs on bottom. I found it easy by wiggling the top part first, and then going for the bottom tabs. Those tabs are screwed in. Unscrew them silly.

Step 4. Remove Driver side rear seatbelt assembly. After step 3 is done, you will be able to see where the bottom part of the assembly bolts down to the rear frame. Just use a rachet to take care of this one.

Step 5. Remove Seatbelt part 2: Put the convertible top back up for a bit (about 70% closed is good. Then you should be able to reach out into the back of where the seatbelt assembly is, and see/feel where the upper tab is. This upper tab is held down by a lone screw. Remove this as well.

Step 6. Cut the damn belt and remove the entire assembly.

Step 7. Feed your rear harness strap thru the newly available hoop. Voila.

Step 8. Back to the seat: On the side that is facing the trunk lever - is a plastic assembly held on by 2 screws. Also, one screw is holding in the handle lever. Remove all screws.

Step 9. Now that your side mount is uncovered, you should see a lone bolt - that somewhat lines up where the seatbelt assembly (the clip on the other side of the seat) would be on the other side. Use this to mount one part of the harness.

Step 10. Remove the seatbelt assembly (the clip) on the other side - and use this for your harness (right side harness) mounting.

Step 11. Put the Seat back in the car and bolt it down again.

Step 12. Sit in the seat. Position everything the way you like it. Then adjust straps.

Note: Don't be a schmuck like me and do this mod. I only did it because I cut my door pillars off and didn't have enough time to install a cage - IE, I was without seatbelts. Now that the whether is hot (and I have no AC) - I feel like I am just begging to be pulled over by a cop, who wants to know why:

a) I did a getto modb) Why I thought I could get away with itc) Why I think I wouldn't get a ticket or harassment with my BLUE HARNESS straps in plain clear view.

your lap harness doesn't look too safe, if i were you i would remove the lower door trim and fold the carpet back. you will notice that there are threaded factory mounting points on both sides, as found on any coupe/hatch 240. your lap harness can still use the other factory mounting point on the transmission tunnel. as for your shoulder harnesses, they dont look too safe either, if you cant afford a roll bar just yet, research the cost of a harness bar. if not, have a machinist make one, it would be alot safer than where you currently have it.

I just used my rear seat mounting bolts for my lapbelts they looked to be about the most sturdy thing I could get down there. Mine have been like that for about 6 monthsnow and I've got pulled over 4 or 5 times like that, cops haven't said a word about the seatbelts. They are just happy to see people with their belts on, I don't really think they care if they are OEM or not. And from the pic I think your shoulder harnesses are the same place mine are, which is where the factory rear seatbelts are, which is a reinforced steel area. The factory felt it strong enough for the rear seatbelt mounts so I felt it strong enough for my fronts.I am getting corbeau forza seats and 5 pt harnsses though, and I'm going to be upgrading to AT LEAST a dedicated harness/stiffening B pillar bar. But in all likely hood I am going to take that to someone whose welding/fabrication skills I trust with my life, and they are going to make me pay, and if I have to pay I'm going to get some sort of roll over protection implemented as well. I kinda want a full cage but I'm just not sure I'm at that point with the vert where it would be appropriate since its still driven (well, limped) on the street occasionally. Now that its got no motor again I guess its not really a concern anymore but I'd still like to be able take it on cruise night once I get the v8 in....
