Snowing heavily here in Vancouver as well. I'm surprised at how the V handles in the snow with the stock tires. Say what you will about how crappy the Continentals are but they handle the snow quite nicely. Congrats on your new car. Hope you are as happy with yours as I am with mine.

I finally got my V a new car protection from a detailing shop. They done it with four protections (rust, undercoat, interior and paint) at $400 (promotional price). They have life time warranty and inspection every year to do the touch up , if necessary. The charge for inspection and touch up is only $20.

They did a very good job too.

Our dealer here in NC does the same thing. I'm not sure if it's against the law, given the way the South is, probably not, or even if it was, you couldn't get it enforced.

Also, given the limited quantity of Versas around, it wasn't worth my time to negotiate much further. You should be able to negotiate the amount though. Our dealer also charged $699, but we got it down to $399.

It sucks, but they did manage to find me an SL 6 MT in the Sapphire Blue and waived the transfer charge, so it's not great, but it wasn't the end of the world either.

I'm not wholely surprised by that. Good snow tires react the same way on dry pavement as these Continentals do.
