Hey guys, I'm sure you've seen my other topic about the water-ed up infiniti. I was just wondering; If the ECU was replaced, and the key not reprogrammed, what would be the symptoms? Does the computer just not fire the injectors? If it does not fire the injectors (and everything else works) then I believe I have found the problem as to why it doesn't start.

Yep it will turn over but not fire.

I recently lost all my keys to my 02 I35 (no clue how) and had to have the dealer cut a new one ($130). Then I hauled (free) the car to a lock smith to have the car programed ($35) for the new key and cut extras ($45 ea) as well. All keys have to be programmed at the same time.

I knew it! My buddy thought he proved me wrong, and did the 'Insert key 6 times, then turn to run'. Well now I just need to come up with 125 for the dealer, or find a locksmith with the SSD box.

Yeah, you can't program a key yourself, just the keyless entry fob.

I hope that solves your problem!
