As I have bene working on my 240 trying to get it ready to be sold, I decided to take a look at the idle today. I unplugged the iacv at the back of the motor via the electrical connector and instanly my idle went down to 8-900 rpm and was stable. Is there any harm in leaving th is connector undone?

nope, if the idle did that then leave it disconnected. i dont see any prob with leaving it disconnected as long as it keeps idling good.

you could replace it. it may not be in the valve. the prob may be the ecm sending the wrong signal or an ecm input thats leading the ecm to believe it needs more idle. you may want to buy a gasket and take the old iacv apart to clean it out.
