I've had an idling problem for the past 7 months now. It hasn't been a problem, just a matter of giving it a little gas at stop signs. It is getting annoying though to have to keep the car at 1500 rpm at stop signs.

So today I decided to go out and unplug the IACV and see if I could adjust the stop screw on the throttle body to keep the idle steady.

After unplugging both plugs on the IACV (I'm assuming one is for the AAC?) the car still runs! I can even get it to restart after turning it off! So I'm wondering if I quite possibly have a vacuum leak. Anyone have this same problem before or could shed some light on the issue?

I guess when I have time I'll install my Xcessive manifold and see if the lack of vacuum lines fixes this problem.

*****, I thought I posted this in the KA24DE forum. Oh well, both are technical right *

If the IACV is unplugged, unless its stuck open, the car should not start. Here's the best way to check. The vac line that goes to the IACV comes off of the intake pipe, plug or crimp that line. Try to start the car, if it starts you have a big vac leak. Plugging that line takes the IACV out of the picture.

But, if he had such a big vaccume leak, would it not register on his boost gauge?

Wow, you just resurrected a thread that's over 3 months old. I don't even own a KA anymore.
